REFLECTION PAPER
Talk to the Cadets with Chief, PNP
September 23, 2022

The Philippine National Police Academy will be well-equipped for discipline as

the Chief of the PNP makes a point of moving toward a no-hazing policy while
looking forward to implementing holistic pedagogies. He repeatedly emphasized that
proper training and the prevention of hazing are good things, and he encouraged
everyone to value open communication between plebes or underclassmen and their
squad leaders in order to report any mistreatment that occurred while they were
receiving training at the academy. Explaining in detail, his desire to bring about
change for the negative customs and experiences that previous classes had, he
relates it to the education of his great son, saying that the close relationship between
upperclassmen and underclassmen breaks down the wall of hazing and that the
academy's greatest dream is to be able to give something to a miss. In-depth
education is necessary to develop refined people with high standards of beauty.
The Philippine National Police Academy is always thinking about how to set
standards and maintain excellence. Everyone is constantly motivated and inspired
by the director of PNPA to be their best selves while maintaining an optimistic and
hopeful attitude. He is stepping into his objectives and purpose of supporting growth,
pursuing transcendancy, and creating credibility for greater transformation as he
broadens his amazing plan to help everyone. Currently, the academy places a strong
emphasis on the responsibility that comes with being indoctrinated as a member of
this esteemed institution to keep order, acknowledge good behaviour, and establish
discipline. It is quite important for us to consider whether this law can be used to
upgrade cadet skills.
Our goal is to cultivate managing oneself to be honorable – filled with
integrity and dignity, constrained by the principles of the honor code system. This is
done without sacrificing the cadets’ welfare, and sense of discipline. Upperclassmen
develop strong character, are noted for having good manner, and are role models for
their underclassmen. Cadets must form an alliance for a specific goal in order to
establish rapport and trust with one another as this great fraternity of men teaches
them the fundamentals of what cadetship really entails. Giving cadets a way to
achieve their objectives without any sign of abuse or violence can make one more
effective than having ferocity in their work. Being a good leader means having a
clear vision, empathy, and accountability. Great leaders don't instigate bloody
uprisings; rather, we are trained to be polite officers who foster a sense of
responsibility, character, and honor.
