Dear Dr. Jose Rizal,

A pleasant day! How you’ve been doing? Wherever you are I hope you are doing great. I
am Jerico R. Homerez an aspiring Electrical engineer and there are tons of questions I personally
wanted to ask to you myself but before that I want to ask your opinion regarding General Antonio
Luna’s death, He is the head general of the defense army of the Philippines long time ago who’ve
been slaughtered with our fellow countrymen. I have watched the movie General Luna and he
stated there that “may matindi tayong kalaban at hindi iyon ang mga espanyol kundi ang ating mga
sarili” it has been stuck in my mind since in our today’s generation it is very visible that Filipino
quarrels with its fellow Filipino seeking for positions and greed governs in their hearts. Leaders
who should stand for our beloved country seems to be siding with the other country who have
taken some parts of our country’s ocean. Are we really freed? Or we are still imprisoned from the
cage who’s made by our own people?

Second thing is how did you do it? Was it on your purpose to sacrifice your life for the
freedom of our country? I admire your story because it seems that your death serves as the ignition
of the flame which led to start of revolution you captured the heart of every Filipino to stand against
the cruel government of Spain but I just can’t imagine because you could have had a life that would
have last long since you came from a middle class family, it would take courage and dedication to
achieve what you have done and therefore I salute you.

As Filipino citizen I will forever respect you for the things you did for our country and I
promise to be a good citizen that will help to maintain the peacefulness of our country even in a
small act of kindness.

Thank you for the time you spare for reading this thoughts of mine.

Sincerely Yours,

Jerico R. Homerez
