Abby on how to use the dictation tool in Microsoft
Word. I modeled it to begin and then had Abby try
it for fun. Once we worked out issues, Abby
started to write her paper using the dictation tool.
Abby will work on her paper before our next
session on 7.7.22.

the Immersive Reader tool in Microsoft Word! I
answered any questions she had and helped her
work through troubleshooting issues. We
discussed how she felt about the dictation tool.
She explained that she liked the tool, and it made
her feel more confident with her writing.
I sat down with Chrissy, Abby’s mom, and
discussed how she felt about the new tools. She
explained that they have made writing and
reading not as terrifying for her daughter.
