by parents.

Proportion
 Read the investigation on pg 20.
Text Book  Critically read and comprehend class discussion on pg
(pg 20-30) 21 to understand inverse proportionality.
 Discuss Textbook page 21 “Attention”.
 Read Textbook page 22 Worked Example 8. Explain
the steps carefully. Point out that the both methods are
correct it just depends which method is easier to use.
 Read Textbook page 24. Explain that: If y is inversely
proportional to x, then xy = k, then y = k/x where k is a
constant and k ≠ 0
 Explain how to graph inverse proportion relations:
Step 1: Make a table consisting of both positive and negative
values for x.
Step 2: Plot the points and join them to form a smooth curve.
Discuss the shape of the graph. Explain it is a smooth curve
that
does not touch 0.
 Explain the shape of Hyperbola graphs, like the one
below, show that the quantities on the graph are in inverse
proportion.
 Read Textbook page 27 Worked Example 10. Explain the
steps.
