1.Safety information
The GDO-D3 door-motor regulator is suitable only for the control of cabin door drives
and is intended for assembly on the cabin roof. The GDO-D3 conducts dangerous
electrical currents and controls moveable mechanical parts. Non-adherence to the
instructions in this operating manual can lead to death, severe bodily injuries or
considerable damage to property.
Safety- and accident-prevention regulations
Alongside the information in this operating manual, observe also the statutory safety-
and accident-prevention regulations. The persons responsible for the safety of the
installation must guarantee the following:
• Only appropriately qualified personnel may work on and with the door-motor regulator.
• The entire personnel who work with the door-motor regulator must be familiar with all
warning indications and measures that are listed in this description for the assembly,
control and operation of the door-motor regulator.
• Non-qualified personnel are to be prohibited from working on door drives.
• Personnel must posses knowledge of First-Aid measures as well as the local
rescue facilities.

Qualified Personnel according to VDE 0105


Under qualified personnel, reference is made to those persons, who, based on their
training, experience, instructions received as well as their knowledge of relevant
standards, regulations, regulations for the prevention of accidents and working
conditions, have been authorized by those responsible for the safety of the installation to
carry out the respective activities necessary.

Installation location
Please observe the following information concerning the installation location:
• The door-motor regulator GDO-D3 is intended for assembly on the roof of the elevator
cage.
• By the installation as well as by operation of the GDO-D3 care is to be taken, that
above all no metal chips, oil, water or other foreign materials can get into the door-
motor regulator.

• Do not install the door-motor regulator on inflammable materials.

• Install the door-motor regulator on the cabin roof in such a way, that good inspection of the
display is guaranteed on the one hand, and as little soiling of the GDO-D3 as possible is
guaranteed on the other.

Protection of the device during installation


Carefully cover the door-motor regulator during installation or when working on the
remainder of the elevator components, so that above all, no metal chips or grinding-
wheel abrasion can get into the door-motor regulator. Upon completing the mechanical

work, all coverings must be removed again, in order to enable perfect and safe operation
of the cabin door drive.

Safety information for cabling


• Ensure that the power supply to the door-motor regulator has been switched off for at
least two minutes before commencing cabling work. Otherwise, the danger of an
electrical shock or sparking exists.

• The cabling of the GDO-D3 may only be carried out by qualified personnel.

• Check that your safety switching-circuit is working correctly (Emergency-Stop).

• Ensure proper earthing of all electrical components.

• Make sure that the door-motor regulator has the correct power supply. Otherwise,
damage to the device and/or other electrical devices may occur, and in the worst
case, a fire.

• Make sure that the device is cabled correctly.

• Never connect the mains supply to the control-line terminals or the motor-connection
terminals of the door-motor regulator, since this leads to certain destruction of the
device.

Basic operation:
 Checking the cabling
Examine once again the cabling of the door-motor regulator. Thereby particular attention is to
be paid to correct cabling of the mains supply line and the motor line. Pay particular attention
to the prevention of short-circuits. Check whether the switching conditions of the output
relays of the door-motor regulator
correspond with the demands of the elevator controller,exatly normal open and normal close
setting fit to elevator controller whether or not.
 Checking the mains voltage supply
Verify whether the available mains voltage on-site also corresponds with the voltage
selection set in the door-motor regulator (90VAC---270VAC, 50/60Hz).
 Bringing the cabin door to the half-open position
Slide the cabin door by hand to the half-open position in order to be able to determine the
door movement direction after switching on the power and with activated door command.

 Switching on the supply voltage and checking the door movement direction
Switch on the supply voltage. On screen, the batch number is first briefly visible and then the
display “-. . . .”
Now press the Button Value+ several times and pay attention whether the cabin door moves
in a closing direction.
If the door moves in the closing direction, the motor cabling is correct. If the door moves in
the opening direction, the rotational direction of the motor is to be reversed by exchanging
two of the motor line phases. Please must do this operation after switching off the power.

 Initiating the learning run


After checking the rotational direction of the motor the learning run can now be carried out.
This can take place
 by pressing the Button Value +, until the door is completely closed and subsequently
open fully again, or
 by a “Open door”-command at the terminals. The door first closes fully and then open
again fully.
After a successful learning run the device switches over automatically to normal mode (or to
manual- or automatic mode) and the door position is displayed in % of door width.
The output relay initialization state according to the parameter -15 value,the door regulator
first wait “close signal” ,and then the car door completely close,close end signal output.
Whether and which control inputs and output relays are active can be checked by way of
the control-LEDs in the terminal area of the control inputs and next to the switching relays.

② Setting immobility trave curve and DIP switch setting


We can get four kinds of trave curve by setting DIP switch “S1” state.The
operate process at the switching off the power state. Four kinds curve
corresponding with four kinds of station by setting DIP switch SP1and SP2 of
the “S1” to ON or OFF state. And also get works setting curve parameter by
press “Ctrl #” button after switching on the power. Four kinds of trave curve
can also be setting and save by modify the parameter value,we can get
corresponding curve by exchange the DIP switch state. Switch sp3 and sp4
is no function(backup switch).

Recommend using setting:

 U parameter value is door speed percent and also is motor rated rotation speed percent.
-03(rated rotation speed) 、-04(rated current) 、-06(Number of pulse per rotation of the encoder) as
motor rated parameter setting. Please check motor nameplate and setting correctly.
 U00 to U13 is open/close door curve speed,four kinds curve parameter value had been
saved.you can also modify parameter value minitrim if it is necessary .
The closing force setting by U18,U19,U20 Slip detection judgement parameter,settimg
smaller means closing force greater.please setting carefully.
 U21 speed means:The door will re-open when detect judge obstacle in the door closing
operation process. Once again closing door, the door run to obstacle a distance(-19
parameter value),the door will according to U21 parameter value speed operation to
prevent high speed bump. The door will run normal curve if third time closing door no
obstacle.
② Time parameter setting:

 Setting time parameter value according to unit time of the curve parameter table to
prevent mistake.
 t00 to t13 is speed curve parameter and unit is 0.1 second.please setting suitable
according to door speed and door width.
 t14 and t15 is stop time of close/open hold operation.unit is 0.1 second.the door will hold
operation always when setting parameter value is 0.open hold operation by U06 speed
and A00 current .close hold operation by U13 speed and U01 current.It will damage
motor or lead to motor overload if you setting parameter too high. Works setting is
appropriate,please not change parameter value easily.
 t22 and t23 use in autorun mode,Stop waiting time at open/close end.Setting higher and
wait time longer.
 t24 is time of the slip detection judgement .setting smaller and detection is more
sensitiver. setting bigger and detection is more slower.please setting according to door
systems load.
 t25 to t35 parameter value already setting ,please not change easily.

③ position parameter setting :
 I00 to I12 parameter value is door position’s permillage. I00 to I06 is open position
parameter value should be bigger and bigger,I07 to I12 is close position parameter
value should be smaller and smaller. The closing force monitoring range parameter in
between I07 and I11.

9.Troubleshooting:
Fault code: Lv, Ov, En means three kinds of faults appear.
Control panel will display “Lv”if power input supply low voltage,Low voltage display means
voltage value less than 90V voltage .
Control panel will display “Ov”if power input supply over voltage,Low voltage display
means voltage value more than 270V voltage .
Control panel will display”En” if Encoder working abnormal.Maybe threes kings of faults will
appear this phenomena:
 Cables of the Encoder power connect mistake
 Encoder phase A and phase B connect in reverse.
 Encoder phase A and phase B lose.
