This report summarizes my internship program from June 10 2021 to July 20 2021 covering
5-6 weeks on going internship. I had magnificently concluded the internship in a
pharmaceutical company i.e., VELNEX Medicare India Pvt. Ltd as a sales manager under
the sales department. Most widely I engaged with practical oriented and corporate world
atmosphere that during this time I earned different sides of experiences with assist of outlet
manager. Although I unable to conclude all my experiences as text which I gained from
internship, though I hope the internship skills are vital for my career path.

As Chitkara University gave us an opportunity to work in a company. So, I choose this

company for my first internship experience I was placed with marketing and sales
department and was given the task for sales of sanitizers, receiving payments and giving the
bills and report to manager on weekly basis. I was oriented by my manager about my role
and requirements of the placement. Moreover, I had great opportunity to work with
experienced people and learn from their experiences. Thus, it was an over whelming
experience.

CHAPTER1: INTRODUCTORY CHAPTER

10
(1.1) INTRODUCTION

Internship programs are a best way of systematic gathering, recording and analyzing of data
about the subject that a student goes to learn on the program. The aim of these internship
programs is to connect practical knowledge with theoretical knowledge. Internships give
students the taste of real world out there. Proper application of knowledge to theoretical
field implies to get extra benefit while understanding the matter related to subject. So, the
procedure of gaining knowledge through practical application is known as internship.

We got information about choosing specialization that we have to choose for our B. Com
final year. We were to choose a specialization. I was interested in sales and marketing. I
started finding internship for enhancing my skills in sales and marketing. I also took help of
my relatives so that I can get an internship because of the condition in our country we were
not able to do an internship in last summer vacation instead of doing internship we were ask
to complete online courses so were not much aware how to find internship, where we can
get it and also a trusted internship because searching on internet it does not differentiate
between trusted and fake internships because there are many companies on internet where
they ask for money, extra fee etc.
So, as a part of requirement of B.com Program I have completed my internship in VELNEX
MEDICARE Ltd. For 1 month i.e. (from 10th June – 20th July). I pursued my internship in
the marketing and sales department of the company.

Internship program is also important to fulfill the partial requirement of university as a

credit subject of the B.com program. In this regard I had got an opportunity to carry on my
internship program in VELNEX MEDICARE Ltd. The co. was indulged in manufacturing
and marketing of hand sanitizers and had an excellent working environment for employees.
That's why I am interest to do my internship in VELNEX MEDICARE Ltd. So, I choose
VELNEX MEDICARE for my internship.

3. INTERNSHIP EXPERIANCE

22
(3.1) DEPARTMENT OF WORK

I was lucky because I got the internship in my interested field. After searching, I got intern
in Velnex Medicare. So, after joining VELNEX MEDICARE from 10th June 2021, we
worked in a team and was placed in the sales department. We acquired good things from
them as they were quite experienced and were trained to how to attract customers. They
guided us and briefed us about their various products. There were two options in the interns:
a. Human Resource Management (HR)
b. Marketing & Sales

In HR intern, we were required to hire a person and we have to assist him for selling of the
products for which he/she would get stipend or commission on every sale. In this we would
be able to enhance skills of handling a team and people working with us or under us.
Second was Marketing and Sales intern in which we were given to sell the products to the
parties with which we got commission on every sale.
I selected marketing & sales intern in which I had to contact to different people and
encourage them to buy our products.

23
(3.2) ROLES/DUTIES ASSIGNED

We were assigned the role as a salesman in the sales department and the product line we
were allotted were sanitizers. The manager or head of that department quickly briefed us
about the sanitisers and its rates. We were arranged in a team of 3 and we were students of
Chitkara University only. They briefed us about the areas they cover and assigned the areas
near Ambala for the sales of sanitisers.
Other duties assigned were:
a) Analysing the market
b) Create social media content
c) Submit daily report to supervisor
d) Discover various competitors (their strategies, pricing, etc.)
e) Attend regular meetings
f) Promotional Advertisements

(3.3) Linkages to the Theoretical Parts Learnt in Classrooms

We have been taught to always do a SWOT analysis of the company. So, I have done
SWOT analysis of Velnex Medicare.
The concept that I linked was SWOT analysis and our manager kindly concerned our issue
and helped us to understand the pros and cons of this business.

24

there.

THREATS -
i. The competitors may have adequate financial capacity in the market.
ii. Change of GST rates by the govt may also pose a threat leading to reducing
profitability.
iii. New entrants may also pose a threat for the company.

(3.4) VALUES GENERATED

In the internship I was given the task to sell sanitizers and other products to customers. The
values generated by me are:

 People are Everything

26
By this internship I learned that people are everything for companies. They are who make a
business grow. People are considered as blood and sweat that makes a business run. This
also build a mindset of performing task in team in which everybody has different opinion
about the task. At the starting I was excited to share my ideas with everybody but with time
I realized that working on my ideas is not sufficient but its more important to work with
team and help them. I helped many colleagues and after they also helped me with the same.

 I can always learn Something New

When starting the internship, I thought I knew everything and I can easily manage the
things but when the internship started, I realized there are many things which I need to learn
for my internship. I learnt instead of making ideas personally is not good but making ideas
in team will give team a clear idea about the task and everyone can easily put their inputs so
as to achieve the target easily. Instead of thinking about whole idea I started thinking “what
can I learn today?” and “how can I contribute to the team”

 Rome wasn’t built in a day

I am ending my internship by realizing that legacy cannot be built in just one day. It can be
built only with passion, dedication and most important through discipline. Now I have
decided to have small short-term goals because it gives a real boost and confidence to an
employee. I have also built patience in me because selling something needs a lot of patience
in front of people.

27
(3.5) BUSINESS GENERATED

As a sales intern I was given commission on my every sale. On one sale of Rs10000/- I got
commission of Rs 500/- as described in my offer letter. In my internship period I have
interacted with many people(retailers). In this duration I have contributed to sales of nearly
7k to 8k rupees. This was business generated by me.

(3.6) SKILLS OBTAINED

First, I would like to thanks the directors and management of the company to provide me
this wonderful opportunity and helping me in making a better person. During the internship
I had to deal with various customers and parties and had to convince them to buy our
product. This is a quite hectic job but I think it helped me to add into my communication
skills and my pitching skills must be enhanced. Communication skills are getting better
now. During the internship, we had to meet our officials once a week so that we can give all
the records to them. This enhanced our habit of recording data on daily basis so we can
maintain our punctuality. Particularly they checked our attendance, reporting and leaving
time, receiving orders and forwarding them on time. This helped to maintain our regularity.
We also faced many difficulties and they were answered by our manager. During the
internship, he allocated a salesman with us so that he can help us and we can acquire things
fast.
Other skills which I obtained were:

28
1. Team Work
2. Patience
3. Convincing People
4. Leadership
5. Communication Skills

(3.7) EXPLORING MARKETS

After we received all the information about the product. We started to explore the markets
and met various parties and started analysing their demands. It was quite tough to make our
first sale as corona virus declined in this month and there was not enough demand for the
sanitisers among customers. But still we managed to make our first sales and will enclose a
bill in the report below.
We received appreciation from our manager because being a beginner in this field and still
managing to convince customer was a great job. Our reporting time was 10 am and we had
a lunch break at 2pm till 2:45 PM. Our working hours finished at 5pm because of internship
but it was a great experience of exploring the markets and we felt confident and looked
forward to work even harder.

29
4. RECOMMENDATIONS

Since the pandemic is going on, people are more concerned for their health. The demand for
sanitizers and masks has been increased to a great extent. The demand will continue to
remain high till the pandemic continues. So, in order to run this business successfully, they
should follow the following things:

i. Validated Market Demand

ii. Quality Products with Affordable Prices
iii. Scale of Business
iv. Customer Satisfaction
v. Brand Uniqueness

Also, Velnex Medicare can train their interns more professionally for more and efficient
work. There were few trainings for interns on how they can increase their sales and to teach
more marketing skills or methods. They can also teach them how to attract more people and
how to talk to them to start conversation, how to greet them, how to describe the product
diversity and many more things.

30
5. CONCLUSION

Everyone is studying a lot of in the class room as well as lecture hall but that full fill when
those class room and lecture hall studies going to be implemented. That is different
experience and needed experience for everyone in the world. Actually, nowadays practical
experience much needed than theoretical base studies. I spent around a month at the
company for my internship training the training gave to me such opportunity to enhance my
knowledge and skills with the practical business environment. This hind of training much
needed for every student in their life.

In the end I would say that it was a great and knowledgeable experience working at Velnex
Medicare. The environment which they have created for staff as well as for interns gave me
a boost to know myself as a worker. This small journey has brought out my strengths and
also the sectors or skills where I have to do a lot of practice and experience. It also added a
professional attitude in me and also gave a boost to work in corporate world and to work in
team too. Main objective of this internship was to gather real life experience of corporate
world and putting the learning done from college in my task to complete it in more
meaningful manner. This was my first experience of working with a company and doing
internship.

During this period, I have gained a lot of confidence and skills required in my field.
My experience at Velnex Medicare was highly educating. I have met a lot of different
personalities and talked to them to sell the products. I worked in marketing and sales
department there as a intern in which we were required to meet the target sales and also we
were required to contact different people to attract more and more parties. In all this work I
got a lot of learning which will help me in my future career.

31
As a student I have gained a lot of confidence for my future and now I can easily say to me
that I can do it. During this period, I have faced a lot of challenges and the way to tackle
these challenges and also, I realized that it is just a beginning of my career path and I have
to go long way. But I can say this proves my objective of being in marketing field.

At the end I want to thank Velnex Medicare to help me in providing intern in their
company.
