Instruction: Using the worksheet below, define what thoughts, beliefs, values, habits, and other
behavior (both positive and negative) you have acquired by filling in the spaces in the table. You may
also use a separate sheet.
Process Questions:
1. What beliefs, values, and behaviors do you consider to be helpful to your social self? Why?
I am an ambivert because of personal issues, but on what I have learned as I grow up that are
helpful in my social self is to become more engaging in any social gathering, become more
adventurous with little risks in life, being generous, friendly, cheerful, kind, trustworthy,
courteous, helpful and many more that I have learned throughout the years will help me in my
social self. And becoming more understanding by being humble and more open-minded to other
people that surrounds me.
2. What beliefs, values, and behaviors do you consider as detrimental to your social self? Why?
There are pros and cons in each subject and the downside of my behaviors in my social self is
that I take things logically. It is not the worst thing but because I engage with other people
without responding to any of their feelings is very bad in socializing. For example, I always think
logically especially in the event of somebody is in bad mood or in a very bad state.
3. What new insights about your social self, do you have at this point?
Well, I become more understanding with anybody on the internet because I want to know
everything in different perspective.
EXERCISE 3.2.1A MSM- My Social Media
Instruction: Open any of your social media accounts. Review your posts and screen capture those you
think show benign and toxic online disinhibitions. Why do you think they are benign or toxic? Use the
table below for your answers.
I did not have any posts that shows benign or toxic posts in any social media. I have neither share
controversial topics with anybody nor any controversial comments in any posts
Instruction: Take a look at the things you post on your social media accounts and answer the following
questions.
Processing questions:
1. Based on the things you post, what can you say about your online persona?
Because I have no posts about anything other than a change of profile picture on my Facebook
account, I have no foundation on my online persona. But I have interacted Facebook and TikTok
to know what I do in a daily basis, like if a content is controversial like the upcoming election, I
just always read anything that has a solid argument and only listen from both sides. Based on
what I do on social media, I can define myself as reserved especially in very controversial times
not because I have a persona to keep up with but because I hate dealing with uncivilized users
a.k.a internet trolls and there are a lot of them.
3. Have you ever been involved in social media conflicts? If yes, explain how, and if no, explain
your general feeling toward social media conflicts.
I don’t want to get involved with anybody about any kind of drama. Throughout the time, there
will be a controversial person in social media that does something unforgivable, and the internet
will hate her for it. During the controversy, the perpetrator will delete or make his/ her account
private, and the internet will get mad and will make a hate thread. Of course, that I’ll still hate
him/ her, but a hate speech or doxing is too far. Plus, nothing, in the power of the internet, will
solve the problem.
4. What can you do to avoid social media conflicts in the future?
Nothing, a conflict is a conflict and everybody on the internet are involved with it, you
personally will choose what to do next. For me, I’ll just skim away if it doesn’t revolve around
me or anything near me.
