IV. Objectives

The Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance program that aims to bring
together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources to
prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year. The Brigada Eskwela Program is
one of the most important programs in DepEd. In the spirit of bayanihan, private
institutions/individuals, government agencies, local government units, and other organizations
contribute to DepEd campaign to ensure accessible and quality basic education. Relative to the
COVID-19 pandemic, this annual activity will be reconfigured to fully assist the preparation of the
schools to ensure that learning must continue.
The 2022 Brigada Eskwela will be undertaken from August 1, 2022 to August 26, 2022 with
the theme “BRIGADA ESKWELA: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”.
This year’s BE shall focus on the following:
1. Implementation of the year-round schools’ maintenance and repair activities, which
includes the provision of the immediate needs during disaster or calamities, and the
addressing of resource gaps during the reopening of the face-to-face classes;
2. Strengthened partnership engagements with partners and stakeholders that
complements DepEd’s effort to ensure quality basic education;
3. Achievement of significant goals which shall contribute in increasing students’
participation rate, reducing drop-outs and helping improve learning for both learners
and community; and
4. Creation of a network of community-based organization to get total community
commitment for collaborative programs and projects including the Brigada Pagbagsa
and other support and volunteer/community-based projects.
