A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TECHNICAL DRAWING 1

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. identify the ten principles to be considered in constructing orthographic

drawing/projection;

b. apply the principles of orthographic drawing/projection by constructing their

own kind of object; and

c. actively participate during classroom discussion.

II. Learning Content:

A. Subject Matter: Principles of Orthographic drawing/projection

B. References: Constructing Orthographic Projection Module

Drafting Volume 1 by: German M. Manaois pp. 52-55

C. Materials: Module, Book, Laptop, DLP, IM’s

III. Learning Proper:

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Greetings All: Good Morning Ma’am

2. Prayer All: Stand

3. Checking of Attendance All are present

4. Classroom Management All: Yes Ma’am

Okay class, before we start our lesson,
kindly fix your chairs and pick up the
pieces of papers that are scattered.

B. Developmental Activities/ Lesson Proper

1. Motivation All: Yes Ma’am
Class, I have here some cards with (someone will going to arrange)
letters, I will going to jumble it then
paste it on the black board then
someone will try to arrange the letters.

Okay, very well. Now what word is that

class? All: Ma’am Principles!
Yes, now who among you have their
(Ma’am me!)
own principles in life?
Okay, so what is your principle in life?
Ma’am to live life happily
Very good!
2. Presentation of the topic
Very Good Class! Your answers are
correct and that is something related to
our topic for today and it is all about
the ten principles of orthographic
drawing/projection.
3. Discussion
Okay class, we have ten principles to
consider in constructing orthographic
drawing/projection.
First, kindly read. Ma’am, top view is directly above the front
view

Second, kindly read. Ma’am, side view is horizontally aligned with

the front view and rear view.

Third, kindly read. Ma’am, the width of the top view is equal to
the width of the side view.

Okay, next? Kindly read. Ma’am, when a line or edge is viewed

perpendicularly to plane or projection will
appear as a point.

Fifth, kindly read. Ma’am, a line or edge parallel to a plane of

projection will also appear as a line or edge in
its exact shape or true length.

Okay, next, kindly read. Ma’am, a line or edge inclined to the plane of
projection will appear shorter or foreshortened.
Very good! Next kindly read? Ma’am, a surface perpendicular to the plane
will appear as a line or edge equal in length to
the nearest edge of the surface, which in this
case is either its length or width depending on
its position.

Next, kindly read. Ma’am, a surface parallel to the plane of

projection will be shown in its exact or true
shape and size.

Next, kindly read. Ma’am, a surface inclined to the plane of

projection will also appear surface but smaller
in size and shape.

Last, kindly read. Ma’am, no line or edge of the object can be

projected longer than its true length.

What is height? Kindly read. Ma’am, height is the distance elevation from
the top to bottom.
What is width? Kindly read. Ma’am, width is the distance from left side to
the right side.
What is depth? Kindly read. Ma’am, depth is the distance from the front to
rear.
4. Generalization Ma’am none!
Class, from our topic we discussed all
about the ten principles to consider in
constructing orthographic
drawing/projection. . Do you have any
question/clarification class?
