A Detailed Lesson Plan in English 7

Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature during the Period
of Apprenticeship as a means of examining conflicts; various purposeful listening
and viewing strategies; difference between literal and figurative language; ways to
extract and condense information based on library sources; verbal and non-verbal
cues in oral communication; and types of phrases, clauses, and sentences.
Performance Standards:
The learner transfers learning by:
a. resolving conflicts presented in literary selections;
b. using tools and mechanisms in locating library resources;
c. extracting information and noting details from texts to write a précis,
summary, or paraphrase; d. distinguishing between and using literal and
figurative language and verbal and non-verbal cues; e. use phrases,
clauses, and sentences meaningfully and appropriately.
Learning Competency:
The learner:
a. use the appropriate oral language, stance and behavior when giving
information, instructions, making explanations, and narrating events in
factual and personal recounts. EN7OL-II-g-2.6.2/ EN7OL-III-b-3

I. OBJECTIVES:
At least 80% of the students should be able to:
 define grammar;
 identify the 9 basic rules of grammar; and
 construct grammatically correct sentences.

12 BASIC RULES OF GRAMMAR
Rule 1: Every sentence should start with a
capital letter in the first word.

(Subject-Verb-Object)

plural.

The women went to the park yesterday.

Rule 5: Proper nouns should be capitalized

possessions.

F. APPLICATION

“QUIZ BEE”

Directions: Form 4 groups. Let’s have a


quiz bee. Each group must write their
answer on the illustration board. Once the

their answers and the group with the correct
answers will receive a point.
