Key Concept: In English, subject-verb agreement is important. What this means is that the characteristics of
the subject should be reflected in the verb. For example, if a subject is singular, the verb form must also be
singular.

Word) (3 minutes)

Are you ready to start our day with an activity
class?

Today, we will have an activity. I will group you


into two. This will be the group 1 with a group
named “Red Dragon”. On the other side, that will
be the group 2 with a group named “Blue
Wolves”. With your group, you will be given a
material to identify the exact word for each item.
I will give you 2 minutes to brainstorm your ideas
with the given material and 1 minute to present
your output. One representative per group must Yes Ma’am!

“Observing Subject and Verb Agreement. But before
we proceed to our formal discussion, may I request
everybody to please read our learning objectives.

Subject verb agreement consists 21 rules but today
we will only cater 3 rules.

The first rule is...

Rule #1. If the subject is singular, the verb must be


singular too.

Example: Eva plays volleyball every day.

Now, I want someone from this class to share his/her


hobby to the class. The lucky student to share his/her
hobby will receive a mystery box and plus 2 points to
the group if done correctly. The other students will
write their own sentence about their hobbies in 1/4
sheet of paper.

Again, the chosen one is the only one who is tasked


to speak and share his/her hobbies while observing
this subject verb agreement rule number 1 and the
rest will only write theirs in 1/4 sheet of paper.

connected by and, use a plural verb.

Directions: Look at your seatmates. Construct at


least five sentences that describe your seatmates
based on what they’re doing, what they’re wearing,
and what do you think they’re feeling at the moment.
You have 2 minutes to write your answers in ¼ sheet
of paper.
