The goal of the researchers in this study is to determine how good or how bad is
the effect of caffeine intake on the academic performance of a student. Also, to determine
how often the students drink caffeinated products like coffee, or energy drinks. In
addition, to also expand the knowledge and understanding of the researchers and students
The researcher's chose the senior high school students of Tomas Del Rosario
College as their primary respondents in conducting this study. For reasons, that SHS
students now have a habit of drinking coffee or energy drinks before and after class while
on class or while performing academic tasks at home. Another reason is because of the
early class schedules tight class schedules or many tasks, activities, and unfinished school
works to be passed or submitted that may cause the excessive intake of caffeine of
students. To further, the beneficiaries of the study includes the students, parents, teachers.

have found expanding effect of caffeine that enhances alertness, reduces fatigue,

This study will primarily focus on the level of effect of caffeine on the senior high
school student’s academic performance, so the researchers’ found statistical data from
past studies for the reason on why we chose SHS students to be the respondents.

Students. They are the main beneficiaries of the study since they are the
responders of this study. They will benefit from this research since it will give them
Furthermore, the study will give them statistical data on the positive and negative effects
Teachers. If the teachers or instructors are aware of the issues and information
derived from this study, it would benefit their quality of teaching by giving them
information on how the students use caffeine to perform their academic tasks.
Future Researchers. This study will be useful in the future since students have or
develop different caffeine intake habits, they may utilize the results of this study to
further address the issues, add new features, or use data collected in this study to their
own study. They will learn how caffeine intake affects the academic performance of
Parents. This study will also benefit the parents of the students since it is the
academic performance of this child. With this study they would know if their child’s
caffeine habit positively or negatively affects their child academic performance. They
would also know if they should limit that child’s caffeine intake.
Caffeine Product Manufacturers. This study will benefit them by knowing if
they should make students their target market. Furthermore, if what type of product they
like most. They will learn more about how their products affect student.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
This study will mainly focus on the level of effect of caffeine on the academic
performance of senior high school students of Tomas Del Rosario College in Balanga
City, Bataan. The school is now conducting face to face classes again and students are
now facing adjustments on their schedules and workloads which leads to the reason why
they drink caffeinated products, and this is the reason why the researchers have chosen
this school to conduct their study. The respondents are limited to the senior high school
students, both grade 11 and 12 because the researchers’ main goal is to know the level of
effect of caffeine on the academic performance of their fellow senior high school
students. Considering that not only senior high school students drink caffeine, but also
college students and teachers, but this study will remain focused with the grade 11 and 12
because senior high school is considered a point of transition where students experience
complicated and increased academic works, and class schedules to prepare them for
college.
This study is only limited to knowing the level of effect of caffeine intake on the
academic performance of senior high school students of Tomas Del Rosario College. The
researchers have limited access to their respondents due to the respective rules that are
being implemented by the school and government during the pandemic, where they
cannot conduct a face-to-face survey outside of the campus. With consideration to the
respondents, the study will not be interfering with their mental health and will not be
making questions that may result to affect it in anyway. The period of this study will be
