Dear Sir,

RE: Ms Anjila Devi- Subdivision of Lot 01, SO 4365, Lomolomo, Lautoka, SL14613

We refer to the letter dated 3 rd August 2021 in reference to the developer requesting clearance certificate for
the subdivision from Lautoka City Council and Lautoka City Council requesting for comments from Energy Fiji
Limited (EFL) with reference to the Electricity grid infra-structure within the vicinity of Development site on
Lot 01, SO 4365, Lomolomo, Lautoka.

EFL wishes to advise the developer to adhere to the following terms and conditions while carrying out the
proposed development at the above mentioned site:

a) Ensure that the proposed development works do not pose threat to the existing EFL’s overhead assets
installed within the vicinity of the development site. (Minimum safe clearance distances are
stipulated in Section 27 of the Electricity Regulation(2019));
b) The overhead power lines must at all time be rendered inaccessible to any person during
development works and after all works have been completed. The developer shall ensure that he or
his sub-contractor maintain the minimum horizontal clearance distance of 1.6 meter is always
maintained between the overhead low voltage power lines and any person, any part of an equipment
or building at the development site;
c) Shall not build any temporary/permanent infra-structure beyond the building line restricted zone as
mentioned in the plan;
d) Do not allow any person to raise an extension or single ladder near to or beyond the height of the
distribution low voltage lines of EFL;
e) To notify EFL beforehand in the case where the proposed development works will affect the existing
vertical or horizontal clearance distance of the overhead low voltage power line and is required to
stop all works being carried out and notify EFL immediately should any of the EFL’s assets pose a
threat to any person or equipment during the development works; and

SRogoimuri@efl.com.fj or on mobile 9992419. EFL may issue a Stop Work Notice to the developer should the
development works being carried out at the above mentioned site pose a threat to any of its existing assets or
is in breach of the above terms and conditions and will execute the necessary steps required to make safe it’s
assets before the Stop Work Notice can be uplifted.

Upon receipt of formal request from the developer, EFL will plan to relocate the power line followed by
our due processes subject to the developer:

a) To provide written wayleave consent and assist in obtaining other relevant consents from relevant
parties for the installation of necessary power supply infrastructure in coordination with EFL’s
Wayleave Officers prior to the commencement of the diversion works;
b) Divert their service mains at no cost to EFL;
c) Submit a copy of land title document and engineering plan for the diversion of the overhead power
line

In principle, EFL has no objection to the proposed development, however, we request you to be mindful of the
matters raised above when reviewing the developer’s plans. As there is existing EFL assets within the vicinity
of the proposed development, developer will be required to coordinate with EFL for pole relocation issues,
any work near existing power poles or pole base strengthening if deemed necessary and provide wayleave
consent for the new pole positions and overhead lines.
