Domestic tourists are 10 times as many as international tourists. As a group, they spend 7 times.
Tourism can become an even stronger socioeconomic and environmental instrument of the
Philippines.

Type of traveler who moves from one province to another w/in one specific region.
3. Local
Type of traveler who is often classified as an excursionist because of the assumption that
he or she will not need to stay beyond 24 hours in his/her destination, w/c is always w/in
his/her province.

 Traveler must hold a valid ticket for return journey to country of origin or next country of
destination and a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay in the Philippines.
 If someone wishes to stay longer, they must obtain a visa extension before their trip from
the Philippine consulate or embassy. Once in the country, they may obtain it from the
bureau of immigration.
