in the UK.

There is currently no dedicated law or regime relevant to esports in the UK. And most of the regulation is left up to third

What role do the British Esports Association play?

In their statement they say that they want to promote esports In the UK, increase its level of awareness and improve
standards within esports.
They are a non-profit national body wanting to expand and improve all aspects of esports in the UK.
They want to “not push esports as a rival to traditional sport, but as a credible activity in its own right”
They work with schools and colleges to embrace and get involved with esports with things such as the British Esports
Championships which supports the setup of clubs and other initiatives.

How does esports fit within the wider video game industry?

Esports has changed the way games are released and developed, many gamnes that are competitive based will be
constantly updated and “balanced” to keep the game fair and modern many game developers are opting to take this
route when they release their games and this is even moving over into singleplayer games such as “Final Fantasy XV
awhich is getting patches now: Square Enix has confirmed that it will decrease the difficulty of the game’s much-
maligned Chapter 13 by granting additional powers”
“Internet content delivery systems make these kinds of patches possible — but their role in esports titles have popularized
them”
Builds community by having LAN events where everyone gets involved in games live and in person.
