III. IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH

IV. GUIDE QUESTIONS

1. What is/are Intermolecular Forces?

 Intermolecular forces are forces that binds together molecules

with other molecules.

2. Why does IMF important?

 It determines the strength of the forces between molecules of a

substance, and how much energy it requires to be broken.

Meaning that it indicates melting and boiling points of solids and

liquids.

3. Based in the study, how are IMF well understood by students?

 According to the study, IMF is not fully understood by the

students since participants often define IMF as bonds between

atoms. In short, intramolecular forces by the participants most of

the time.
4. Do we have IMF in our chemicals in the brain? Enumerate.

 Serotonin – Nitrogen and Hydrogen bond gives Hydrogen and

Dipole-dipole bonding.

 Dopamine – Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen gives Hydrogen,

Dipole-dipole, and London Dispersion bonding.

5. Cite the IMF within a molecule of a certain substance of choice and

a systemic (organic brain chemicals) molecule, then illustrate how

these two molecules triggers the emotional capacity of the person.

You can represent this by drawing the IMF of the molecule (within)

and its IMF to the brain chemicals.
