Survey Report of Vaccinations among Students in the HUMSS Strand

In the second quarter of the school year 2021-2022, 10 HUMSS respondents

were involved in the survey using a questionnaire in order to determine their

perception on the factors that convince them to get vaccinated. The purpose of this

report is to identify the factors for the COVID-19 vaccine acceptance of the students.

It is a reality for people to be afraid of the effects of the vaccine. Education today is

continuing despite the lack of educational resources such as technology to be used

by students and the financial incapacity of some families. Students have shared their

sentiments on the difficulty of blended learning and the anticipation to transition to

face-to-face learning. It is the aim of the survey report to provide information on their

reasons for choosing to get vaccinated.

The questionnaire was utilized to get the information needed for the survey

which consisted of two parts. The first part consisted of questions about the

respondents’ demographic profile including age, gender and academic track, and the

second part consisted of statements about certain factors that might be responsible

for their decision to take the vaccine.

The results of the survey revealed that all of the respondents or 100% get

vaccinated because they believe that the benefits of taking the COVID-19 vaccine

outweighs the risks involved by eradicating COVID-19 infection. There are 70% of all

the respondents who decided to get vaccinated because there is sufficient data

regarding the vaccine's safety and efficiency released by the government. The

survey also revealed that while 30% of the respondents feel coerced to have the

vaccine, there is still the confidence that there is no harm in taking the vaccine.
To sum up, this survey shows that there is a high acceptance and confidence

base on the identified factors that students take the COVID-19 vaccination. This

survey suggests that getting vaccinated signify that students wanted to be safe from

the COVID-19 infection and hope to transition from face-to-face learning.
