of work. We are going to divide the work into two parts where the first is an introduction to the
world of work and the other is intended to demonstrate how a job interview is approached.
Eduardo - The job market is a jungle, but not because of the people who are in it, despite some…
leave it alone. What makes the job market look like a jungle is the diversity that exists within it.
Eduardo - yeah sorry hehe, so the job market is an expression used to refer to the forms of work that
may exist, being remunerated in some way, whether manual or intellectual work. People sell their
labor for a wage, which may be cash, housing, bonuses, or some other form of reward for work
performed.
Do you understand now???
Eduardo – yes sure, hmm so think of a department store. Inside the store there are the sections, and
inside the sections, the products.
Miguel – so in this analogy, the store is the Job Market, the sections are areas of activity (banks,
restaurants, hospitals, etc.) and the products are the professionals who work in each area. Am I
right?
Eduardo – btw do you know anything about how the job market works???
Miguel – yeah I guess correct me if Im wrong, so the job market is made up of companies from
different segments that offer job opportunities for professionals to exercise their skills, knowledge
and experience. So am I right?
Miguel – ok do you have any question, so we can proceed to our representation of an interview.
Eduardo - oh yeah actually I got two questions. So how is the job market currently? and Do you have
any forecasts for the future in the job market?
Miguel – So in response to the first question I currently, the job market is very competitive. Due to
the ease of connecting with people, many companies compete on equal terms when it comes to
reach. Because of this crazy competitiveness, you need to be SPECIALIZED and DIFFERENTIATED. And
you need to know a lot about your profession and specialize in activities that make you a more
complete professional.
Eduardo – Oh I see
Miguel - now about the other question it is important to mention that when we look at the future
of the job market and the advancement of technology, it is possible to make predictions – always
running the risk of them not being confirmed. Continuing, I have an idea of what might happen, for
example, Age of automation, Remote work, Multidisciplinary and New careers.
