INTRODUCTION

CHAPTER 2:
WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Wheel alignment is a part of standard automobile service.
That consists of adjusting the angle of the wheel to the
car manufacturer's specifications. This reduces the
unconditional wear and tear of the tyre. It increases the
tyre life and ensures the vehicles travel straight and turn.
Wheel alignment consists of three main parts,
CASTER: It is the angle that identifies the forward or
backward slope of a line that is drawn through the
upper and lower steering pivot points.
CAMBER: The inward and outward tilt of the tyre and
wheel assembly. The position viewing from the front
of the vehicle is called camber.
TOE: The toe angle identifies the direction of the tyres
are the centerline of the vehicle when viewed from
directly above.

CHAPTER 3:
GENERAL SERVICE
A motor vehicle service is a series of maintenance
procedures carried out at a set time interval or after the
vehicle has traveled a certain distance

WORKING OF ENGINE GEARBOX
Generally, there are two types of gear: the input gears are
fixed on the countershaft making them single units. It
drives the individual gears on the main shaft, which
rotates freely on the bearings; thus, the gearbox passes
the drive to the wheels depending upon the gear which
engages on the main shaft. When you push the shifter
sleeve towards the desired gear, then gear locks on to the
main shaft and rotates it. Thus the main shaft rotates at
the engaged gear's speed and provides output according
to the gear's ratio.

FOUR WHEELER SUSPENSION
Linkages
Spring
Shock absorbing
1. Springs
Springs help absorb the impact when you drive your
vehicle over bumpy roads, potholes, or other irregular
surfaces. These metal coils bend, so neither the driver nor
passengers feel the brunt of the impact.
2. Wheels
Wheels and tires are the only part of the suspension that
touches the ground. Not only are they responsible for
moving your vehicle, but they also work in conjunction
with the suspension system to give you a smooth ride.
6
3. Shock
Absorbers Shock absorbers work with the springs to
absorb the shock of driving on the road. Without these
essential components, both the vehicle and passengers
would be bouncing up and down each time you drive over
rough terrain.
4. Rods
Rods are metal links that connect all the different parts
of the suspension system together. These important
components are built to last the lifetime of the vehicle.
The only way they may break is if your car is involved in a
vehicle accident.
6. Steering System
7. Frame
The frame is the primary component of the suspension
system. It carries the entire weight of the suspension,
keeping all the parts connected and working properly

CHAPTER 4:
ELECTRICAL SERVICES
Electrical service is energy resulting from charged
particles. When a wire carries electric current to your
television or refrigerator, this is an example of an
electrical wire.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
A pressure drop in a system or a pressure increase in a
vacuum chamber indicates a leak is formed. Over
pressurization can make a leak more noticeable. In a
system with a sight over pressure, coating the outside
surface with soap water will help to detect a leak, because
bubbles form at the leakage site. Fill nitrogen in 250psi
and check after 20 minutes if pressure is below 250psi
there is leak.

AC BLOWER
AC blower motor, also called AC fan blower. Ensure the
car air conditioning and heating system is working
perfectly. But it's a little known component, mostly due to
its out of sight location under the dish or engine
compartment.

CHAPTER 6:
CONCLUSION
On the whole this internship had a useful experience. We
have gained new knowledge, skills and met many new
people. We achieved several of our learning goals. The
internship is also good to find out what our strengths and
weakness. At last this internship has given new insights
and motivation to pursue a career in the automobile
sector.
