5.1 SUN 19

We can take the

advantage of
sunlight for the hotel, by
using
(SOLAR ENERGY). Solar
energy is renewable energy,
that is,
It is inaccessible, and its also
a natural energy source that
Contributes significantly, to
the generation of various
form of energy,
It is possible to use it to heat
water instead of gas and
electricity.
Even for light instead of
electricity.

5.2 RAIN

The rainy period of the year lasts for 7.3 months, from
October 14 to May 22, with a sliding 31-day rainfall of
at least 0.5 inches. The month with the most rain in
Erbil is March, with an average rainfall of 1.2 inches.
The rainless period of the year lasts for 4.7 months,
from May 22 to October 14.

5.3WIND

It is expensive to build a wind farm that is able to provide

all the electricity a hotel needs, but if the hotel is located
in a windy area, this option becomes more practical.

. But its important to creat a large part of green area

Which would be beneficial for people in the hotel when
there is a clean wind.
And greatly reduces the negative effects of dusty wind.

5.4 AIR POLLUTTION

23
5.5NOISE
The most noisy part in this site is, the
main street
Which is located in the front part of the
site.
While we design the hotel we should not
put places
Where they need calm like hotel rooms.
We can put there some other places for
example
The restaurant,gym,conference hall..

ANALYSİS &
FUTURE
1980
PLANİNG
When we look the erbil map in 1900 to
1980 erbil grow the Baghdad way
because of trade. After 1980 till 2005 FUTURE PLAN OF ERBIL
erbil grow kerkuk way because of the
one of the important city of the
Kurdistan and trade. After 2005 Erbil
started to grow in a opposite way
2005
Because it is far from factorys( kerkuk
road ) so it is not polluted in weather
and it Become more safe frome the
others places when in 2005 Airport
opened, so this area Become golden
zone in Erbil
REGULATİON AND 25

STANDARDS
PARKİNG 7.1
◦For every five seats hotels typically require one parking
space (One parking space per 2 or 6 beds)

◦The average parking space is about 2.5 m wide by 6m
long, It must always be at least 2.3 by 5m long.

◦There are many types of parking lots, the most
economical is 90-degree parking And the hardest to move
as a driver.

◦The angled parking is easier to maneuver and leads to
more rapid traffic flow, but requires one-way traffic less
economical and offers less parking spaces than 90-degree
parking layout in the same size parking lot.
Circulation 7.2 and Building 26

regulation 7.4
•Hotel rooms account for the largest share of a hotel by
area, In urban hotels it is generally 75 percent of the area.

•In 5-star hotel, the minimum size of room is 36 m2.
Corridors in bedroom areas should be minimized, 1.8 to 2.0
m wide for 5-star.

•Bedrooms are the core of the hotel industry. For flexibility
most rooms have a double bed or twin beds. Bedrooms
normally have En-suite bathrooms.

•the hotel rooms are mostly arranged, with bathrooms
parallel to the corridor.

Circulation 7.2 and Building 27

regulation 7.4

•Minimum width of stair case shall be range between 1.5 to

2 m.

0.18 m, and the tread between 0.28 m and 0.35 m.

•The good standard angle of a stair case between 30
degrees and 45 degrees.

the public, The kitchens and administration are in the
rear part of the ground floor. and the large conference
rooms (with daylight entering through a light well),
spa, swimming pool and underground car park and
services areas are in the four basements. the rooms
are semi private space used by the guests and
required exclusive circulation and some of privacy.

Fire safety 7.3

29

1. Test Alarms and Conduct Fire Drills

Fire alarms often are considered the most critical element of a hotel's safety
system.
2. Keep Fire Extinguishers Close
rooms are not required to have fire extinguishers, but extinguishers should never be
farther than 75 feet away in the hallway for a guest to retrieve if needed.

3. Staircase design is dictated by fire escape requirements. The main stairs should
be beside the lift bank to enable guests to find them easily, with secondary stairs at
the end of each corridor.
