INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The start of face-to-face classes began in August, and as a result of Covid 19, there were

changes in the lifestyle of Filipino citizens, particularly all students. In this new normal, prices

for necessities rise, and all students demand a higher daily allowance. Therefore, this study

focuses on the impact of daily allowance and its significance on grade 11 students' academic

performance, with these following questions:

 What are the potential benefits of their daily allowance to their academic performance?

 How it influences their behavior in academic performance?

 What changes have occurred in their academic performance as a result of the change in

their allowances?

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Character of the students towards their studies may determine their future success. Higher

family income may improve students' performance. Nevertheless, it is not and indicator for

students who are from low-income families not to get serious and be responsible in performing

in school (Adzido, Dzogbede, Ahiave, and Dorkpah, 2016). Students having a high financial

status gain public attention and peaceful surroundings that would improve their academic

achievement (Chandra & Azimuddin, 2003). Researchers demonstrate that financial status of the

students correlates with academic achievement (Bhat, Joshi, & Wani 2016). Consistency of
finance in every day can help the students attain goals and be responsible on things that can help

for their scholarly accomplishments (Saifi & Mehmood, 2011). As a result, the study will focus

on theoretical framework as this study relies more on predictions of student responses. This

would allow the researcher to identify and categorize the responses.

RATIONALE

The primary goal of this research is to assess students' academic performance as the

world changes and their daily allowances change. Students nowadays have numerous needs, such

as the internet and for their projects, and obtaining these needs costs money. As a result, the

researchers conducted this study to evaluate how their daily allowances affect their academic

performance. This is intended to provide potential solutions and a conclusion to the situation.

METHODOLOGIES

This research would take place on the grounds of the Marcelo Spinola School. The quantitative

approach is used by the researcher. Researchers will be able to assess the impact of the matter on

the subject of this study using this method. As this study employs a theoretical framework, the

researcher will utilize an experimental research design. In order to conduct the study, an

authorization letter will be given to the directress or principal. Prior to the submission of the
authorization letter, the researcher will approach all Grade 11 students at Marcelo Spinola School

only in sections of St. Ignatius, St. Dominic, and St. Benedict. The researcher will first explain

the

study to all students and assure them that all information will be kept and only be used for

research purposes. It is to safeguard their information and confidentiality. They will be handed a

questionnaire to accomplish in order to gather information. This would be ideal for data

collection as it is efficient in collecting a significant number of samples and info. It would also

allow the respondents to express their preferences and opinions on the subject. The questionnaire

will be distributed during leisure hours such as health breaks, lunch breaks, and dismissal.

Following data collection, the information gathered would be monitored, recorded, as well as

evaluated.
