DEAN OF DISCIPLINE BULLETIN

February 5, 2022

Dear parents/guardians and collegemen,

Thankfully, we have completed our first two weeks of face to face classes after a very long 18
month hiatus. While we are pleased with the opportunity to better engage our students, I
must take this opportunity to remind everyone of some important guidelines and rules that
must be adhered to.

1. Students must wear the appropriate uniform for their respective year group. Uniforms
and crests are available on the school campus.
2. Students are allowed to wear a JC branded jacket or a plain blue, black or grey
jacket/sweater on campus in certain circumstances, for example when it rains. Jackets
and sweaters are not a part of the uniform and should be removed once conditions
return to normal.
3. Students must wear a recommended mask to school. These include the 3 ply
disposable and N95 masks (see images below). Absolutely no ski/biker masks or
bandanas are allowed and will be confiscated and replaced with an appropriate mask
if worn by students.

4. The use of electronic devices such as cell phones, headphones and tablets are allowed
only with the permission and supervision of a teacher. All cell phones should be
turned off during the school day (including lunch periods). Parents are advised
not to call their son/ward during school hours. If the need arises, parents should make
contact with a child through a school officer; such as the form teacher, grade
coordinator, DOSA/DOD, Vice principals or the administrative offices.
5. Students must groom and trim their hair according to the school’s policy (see student
handbook at jamaicacollege.org for details). The wearing of beanies, tams, caps are
also prohibited as these items are not a part of the school’s uniform.
6. While sixth formers are allowed to wear suede shoes to school, all other students are
required to wear plain black leather or synthetic leather shoes. NO sneakers, crepes,
suede, crocs, or slippers are to be worn in uniform on or off campus. In instances
where students may need to wear footwear other than those stated, a written excuse
from the parent (doctor where applicable) must be taken by the student.

Kindly refer to the student handbook for more details at jamaicacollege.org for additional
details on other school rules and regulations.

Looking forward to your continued support and cooperation as we continue building this
noble college.
