Completion Rites and Graduation Message 2022
“Genius has no country. It blossoms everywhere. Genius
is like the light, the air. It is the heritage of all,” said Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our National Hero. To my beloved DepEd Leyte Family, my utmost salutations and warmest congratulations! Other than the common people’s typical understanding of a genius being a person with a very high IQ, let us mainstream its more encompassing meaning as further defined by Merriam Dictionary – a peculiar, distinctive, or identifying character or spirit. This school year 2021-2022 theme, “Gradweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa mga Pagsubok (K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity)”, has captured the virtues that propelled the Filipino people to pursue quality education in spite all the setbacks, struggles, and sacrifices as well as the rewards of joys and triumphs we’ve earned from our battles against Covid-19 pandemic. Just like last year, life has been difficult, but because of the non-wavering commitment of the school officials, faculty, staff, parents, and guardians, we have laboriously reached this far and synergically opened another door of opportunities for our learners. Staying true to the essence of education as a shared responsibility not just of the local community but also of the world at large, our local, national, and international partners likewise deserve our sincerest gratitude for their unparalleled support which enabled us to remain steadfast in our noble vision for our youth. And, of course, to you, our dearest graduates and completers, we have seen how you gritted your teeth just to be where you are now, so you have our resounding applauses and heartfelt congratulations! We are all enamored by your resolute hope to carry on! Remember, no matter what the future holds, pursue your aspirations and endeavor to be resilient in every step you take. There will be tough times ahead of you, so always strive to brave them with a smile on your face and prayer in your heart. Success is only for those who never stop dreaming and getting up every time they fall. As what Dr. Jose P. Rizal has also said, “The glory of saving a country is not for him who has contributed to its ruin.” Be your own genius! Be the true hero of our future! M ANUEL P. PhD, CESO V S ALBAÑO rintendent
