MODULE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE 1

First Quarter/ Week 7/ Day 1
OBJECTIVE
At the end of this module, you are expected to identify and apply troubleshooting in Computer
disassembly and assembly.

The ability to adopt a systematic approach

LESSON towards identifying and then solving a problem or
Troubleshooting in PC Disassembly issue in Computer disassembly and Assembly at
hand is referred to as one’s troubleshooting skills.
and Assembly
In simple words, troubleshooting skills are the
problem solving abilities of a person. It requires a system of thoughts and actions. Ideal troubleshooting skills
mean you begin with gathering maximum information to define the actual problem, and provide the best possible
solution by generating and evaluating all possible solutions.

COMMON PROBLEMS ENCOUNTER AFTER PC DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY

TASK #1 BRAINSTORMING
Now that we identify the common problems of Computer, can you now determine the possible solution for
each hardware?
1. Form a group with 3 members
2. List down the possible solution in the given table below.
3. Web search is NOT ALLOWED.

Task 1: Time to Browse!

Direction: Utilizing the internet, find a video of troubleshooting of computer. Write an insight about the video
presentation. Answer the following.
1. What kind of computer problem did you find?
2. What are the symptoms, cause and solution applied in the video?
3. If you were the person in the video, will you do the same? Yes, or No?
4. If Yes, what will be your possible solution?
5. Present your answer using Smart Art. See example below

To troubleshoot is solving a problem or determining a problem to an issue. Troubleshooting often involves

the process of elimination, where a technician follows a set of steps to determine the problem or resolve the
problem. he basics of troubleshooting a computer problem. Anyone can follow these steps to help identify or
solve most computer problems. Example:
Is the computer turning on? If the computer or display is not turning on, you can quickly determine
that the computer has a connection or other hardware issue. You need to find the steps in troubleshooting
these problems. If you're getting any error messages, write down the error and search for that error
message. If the computer is acting strange, frozen, or encountering errors and can boot, reboot the
computer. Often rebooting the computer can solve many computer issues. What this examples implies?
This only implies that the ability to adopt a systematic approach towards identifying and then solving a
problem. In simple words, troubleshooting skills are the problem solving abilities of a person.

 Communication skills and Critical Thinking

Explaining one’s ideas on finding sample video or gaining knowledge from the computer
expert.
 Creativity
Interpreting ideas through the use of available resources or recyclable materials in creating
Smart Arts.
 Character
Valuing of working together to meet common goal.
