STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I was merely ten when I watched my first episode of Top Gear, and I remember how unco-fascinated I
was. I recall how fast cars, their mechanisms, and the technical intricacies that enable those swanky
machines to rev up in a jiffy just made me watch those episodes with dreamy wide-opened eyes. And I
believe that’s how I began nudging towards engineering in the first place.
With time, I grew a more profound interest in the domain, particularly robotics, especially when I began
indulging in Iron Man comics, cartoons and films. The engineering acumen displayed therein, the
armament of weaponry fit in the system, the artificial intelligence tools utilized in that suit, everything
just drew me closer to robotics.
Post-school, owing to my academic inclinations in the disciplines of Mathematics and Physics, I opted for
a bachelor’s in Technology (Electronics Engineering), which solidified my passion for the domain while
accoutering me with the technical foundation.
Therein, I worked on numerous projects, one worth mentioning. I built a team of four individuals and
worked on an IoT oriented project which qualified for the final level in the national-level competition.
The competition was held by Snazo in collaboration with one of the most esteemed engineering
institutions of India, IIT Bhubaneswar. It was an incredible experience partaking in the project as it
allowed me to delve into the practical applicability of IoT.
Apart from that, I partook in several extra-curricular activities that added a great deal to my holistic
development. For instance, I conducted various robotics and artificial intelligence-oriented workshops
and organized hackathons.
Post-school, I landed an internship with ITC (India) Limited, wherein my role dealt with measuring and
supervising various sensors, comparing various specifications of the same instrument, and thoroughly
understanding the pipeline’s structure for the various geographical areas and customers. The experience
played a crucial role in granting me hardcore industry exposure.
I also interned at Brion Electronics Limited (BEL), India. Therein, my role dealt with working in the
‘Missile System’ department and contributed a great deal to the ongoing project called ‘Vaksh’. It was
quite an experience as it allowed me to learn about the complexities of defense engineering systems.
Thereafter, I joined Willo Consultancy Services as a full-time engineer. There, currently, I am working
in the functional testing Germany-based Banking project. And so far, the experience has been truly
enriching, allowing me to learn about the testing applications used in the industry.
And now that I have had quite a wide-ranging experience and diverse experience, I have happened to
realize that the idea of becoming a master professional in Robotics and Autonomous Systems attracts me
greatly. More so, visualizing myself working as an engineering professional in top-notch organizations
with the likes of SAE International or NASA Robotics Alliance Project inspires me to the core.
Therefore, I now aim to pursue a master’s in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. And pursuing the
degree from XYZ University, along with getting exposed to the eclectic curriculum while availing myself
of the state-of-the-art amenities, seems to be an outstanding way to go about it.
There, I shall explore Autonomous Systems and Robotics oriented modules that allow me to add an edge
to my professional competencies. In addition, I shall partake in the activities of the Robotics Society to
learn from the diverse set of individuals, share my learnings and grow my network.
To conclude, I am of the resolute belief that in my arduous journey of pursuing such an extensive degree
and later working as an engineering professional in the domain of Robotics, XYZ University shall
genuinely act as the guiding light.
