 Conduct open circuit test to determine iron or core loss
 Conduct short circuit test to determine full load copper loss

Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
 connect three single phase transformers to 3-phase supply with different types of primary and
secondary connection
 measure the primary and secondary line voltages in each type of connection
 determine the line voltage ratio and compare with the theoretical ratio values

performance analysis on load.
Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• test and identify the terminals of a DC shunt generator
• measure the voltage due to residual magnetism or create residual magnetism, if necessary
• measure the speed of a DC shunt generator with the help of a revolution counter and stopwatch
• build up voltage in a self-excited DC shunt generator
• determine the relation between field current and induced emf (magnetization characteristic) in a DC
shunt generator when the speed is constant
• connect a DC shunt generator and build up the voltage
• load the DC shunt generator
• determine the load performance characteristic of the DC shunt generator at different loads.

Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
