Pattern Details

Size:
8 inches from bottom of foot to top of ear with weight 4 yarn and a 3.25 mm hook

Skill Level Needed:


Intermediate- suitable for novice crocheters, requires patience and precisions when assembling
the baphomet and basic crochet skills.

Materials Needed:
Yarn: Worsted Weight #4, approximately 75g of main color, 25g of accent colors
Color A: Purple, Color B: Pink, Color C: Black, Color D: Mint
Hook Size: D Hook or 3.25 mm
18 mm safety eyes (can be purchased at glasseyesonline.com or suncatchercrafteyes.com)
26 mm safety nose (can be purchased at glasseyesonline.com or gurumisupply on etsy)
Scissors, sewing needle, stitch marker, fiberfill stuffing, black embroidery thread,
Wire pet brush(optional)

Abbreviations:
mr= magic ring- crochet single crochet stitches in to the
adjustable loop BLO= back loops only
ch= chain stitch F/O= fasten off
sc= single crochet stitch inc3= 3 sc in the same stitch
sl= slip stitch hdc-inc= 2 hdc in the same stitch
dc= double crochet stitch tr= triple crochet
inc= increase- make two single crochet stitches in the same stitch
dec=decrease- crochet two stitches together using the decrease method
(4 sc, inc) x 6= repeat the pattern between parentheses 6 times
dc-inc= 2 double crochet stitches in the same stitch
Notes:
• Do not join rounds unless stated, work in a continuous spiral
• Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round
• All stitches are worked in both loops unless stated otherwise in the pattern

Head:
Crocheted from top of head to bottom
With Color A:
1. Make 6 sc into a magic ring= 6
2. Increase in each st around= 12
3. (sc, inc) x 6= 18
4. sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, sc= 24
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6= 30
6. 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc= 36
7. (5 sc, inc) x 6= 42
8. 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, inc) x 5, 3 sc= 48
9-14. sc in each st around
Place eyes between rounds 10 and 11, leaving 12 holes between them. If you want the sunken
eye look, do not place the backs until row 18
Place nose in between rounds 13 and 14. (if you do not have the safety noses, you can use felt
or embroider the nose)
TIP! You may have to adjust the eye placement depending on yarn and hook size you use.
15. 3 sc, dec, (6 sc, dec) x 5, 3 sc= 42
16. (5 sc, dec) x 6= 36
17. 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) x 5, 2 sc= 30
18. (3 sc, dec) x 6= 24
Now for the eyes. Stuff the head well. Cut a long piece of yarn and remove the eyes. Place the
needle in the hole where the first eye was and insert the needle into a hole next to the eye
hole. Go back and forth between each eye hole repeating the process from the first eye. Pull
slightly on the yarn after going through each hole. Do this about 3 times on each side until you
reach the look you want. Follow the pictures for help. There is also a youtube video I have for

To place the backs of the eyes you will need to remove most of the stuffing to place the
washers on the eyes then re stuff it.

Ears(Make 2 in Color A and 2 in Color B):
Start with the Color B Ears:
1. (sc, 2 dc) x 2 into a magic ring= 6
2. Increase in each st around= 12
3. (sc, inc) x 6= 18
4. (sc, inc) x 2, 2 hdc, dc-inc x 2, 2 hdc, (inc, sc) x 2, 4 sc= 24
Do not F/O Color A ears! To connect the ears together, place the back sides of Color A and Color
B together. Mark the tips of the ears with a stitch marker to keep them straight. Sl st through
the back loops of both ears to connect them together. (you can also sc them together instead if
that is easier) F/O and leave a long tail for sewing

Wings(Make 2):
With Color D:
Ch 13
1. Tr in the 4th ch from the hook, tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc

2. ch 1, turn, BLO 10 sc across


3. Ch 6, turn, BLO, tr in the 4th ch from the hook, work 2 more tr in the next 2 chains, in the base
work 2 tr, 3 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc

4. Ch 1, turn, BLO 13 sc across

5. Ch 7, turn, BLO, tr in the 4th chain from hook, work 3 tr in the next 3 chains, In the base work
a tr, 4 dc, 2 hdc, 6 sc

**If you want sturdier wings on the doll, Make 2 of each wing and crochet them together.**

Tail:
Starting with Color B:
1. Make 4 sc into a magic ring= 4
2. sc in each st around
3. (sc, inc) x 2= 6
4. Increase in each st around= 12
5. (dec x 2, 2 sc) x 2= 8
6. (dec, 2 sc) x 2= 6
Do not stuff the tail
Change to Color A:
7-20. sc in each st around
F/O and leave a long tail for sewing

Assembly

Head and Body:


1. Sew the head and body together.
When you get to the last few stitches to sew together, add some more stuffing then sew
closed.

Horns:
1. Pin the horns onto the top side of the head starting at approximately round 6 of the
head. The bottom of the horn will be approximately at round 10 of the head.
2. Sew the horns onto the head.

Ears:
1. Pinch the ears at the top of them. Sew about 2 stitches closed to give them a pinched
look.
2. Sew the ears onto the head right next to the horns.

Arms:
1. Pin the arms to the side of the body approximately between rounds 14 and 15 of the
body.
2. Sew the arms onto the side of the body.

Legs:
1. Pin the legs onto the side of the body approximately between rounds 6 and 7 of the
body.
2. Sew them onto the body.
Tip! Closing the seam by crocheting over the opening will make sewing it to the body
easier. Also the legs will lay nicely flat, instead of sticking out.

Tail:
1. Pin the tail onto the back of the body approximately between rounds 5 and 6.
2. Sew the tail onto the back of the body.

Wings:
1. Pin the wings onto the back of the body.
2. Sew the wings onto the body.

Embellishments:
1. Cut 6 strands of pink yarn in 4 inch length. Attach the yarn to the chin.
2. Take your wire brush and brush out the yarn. You will lose a lot of yarn in this process.

2. Take a long strand of black embroidery thread. Thread your needle and insert the
needle into the head. Bring the needle to the tip of the nose. Make a line with the
thread and bring the needle down to the chin one hole above your goatee.
Weave in the tail ends.

3. Thread a needle with a long strand of black embroidery thread. Insert the needle into the
side of the head. Bring the needle up above the eye. Approximately 3 rounds above the highest
point on the top of the eye. Bring the needle down the to the opposite side of the eye one
round down. This will make your eyebrow. Weave in the tail ends.

4. Thread your needle with a long strand of white yarn. Insert the needle into the head and
bring it to a hole on the corner on the lower part of the eye. Insert the needle around the side
of the eye on top. Bring the needle out to any point on the head and pull the yarn tightly. You
may need to make sure the yarn goes around the eye and gives a white highlight look.
Weave in the tail ends.

5. Making the star on the head. Mark 6 spots on the head in a star shape.
Thread your needle with a long strand of black embroidery thread.
Insert your needle into the head in any spot, Bring the needle up to the 1st pin and follow the
pictures below to see how to embroider the upside down star.
Weave in the tail ends once you are finished.

Helpful Tips:
Exact Colors and Brand of Yarn Used:
1. Purple: I love this yarn Amethyst
2. Pink: I love this yarn Tropical Pink
3. Black: I love this yarn Black
4. Mint: Big Twist Mint

You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you
change the sizes.

You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your baph
and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.

How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
baph turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
