Inquiry Question: How can I create an NFL expansion team?

1) Capstone Project Summary:

In the box below, please type out a 200 – 300 word summary highlighting the key points and
information that you plan to present during your Capstone Project presentation.
My capstone project is I am creating an NFL expansion team. The expansion team will be based in
Vancouver. My name I have for them right now is the Vancouver Bandits. I will be going into all aspects of
creating an expansion team. I am going to do all the coach and management hirings. I will give reasoning
for the hires by looking at their experience and my personal opinion on why they would be a good fit for
my organization. I am going to find a place in Vancouver to host the team whether that Is building a new
stadium or using one that’s already built. I will be making jerseys and a logo for the team. Then after I
figure all that stuff out, I will find out the rules for an expansion draft for a team joining the NFL. With a
new team joining to balance the league I will be adding a Toronto team joining as well. I will do the
expansion draft and build a team. I might do a Madden simulation at the end with my roster to see if it
would be successful. I will be presenting my project with PowerPoint showing all aspects of my project
start to finish.

my capstone.

Critical Thinking
If Vancouver ever has an NFL expansion team they will know who to call
and I will do my part to contribute my work.

I will have to analyze my work and make sure it makes sense and falls
under the rules the NFL would allow. I will have to make sure everything
is also realistic.

 I will have to create a whole team from scratch all aspects of it will
require me designing it whether it’s the jerseys or the roster.

I will have to use the environment around me to build the team. For
exampleI will be looking at Vancouver and creating ideas on where they
are going to play whether it’s in a stadium already built or in a new one.

I will have to look at some of my ideas and think if they make sense and
have to rework them so they make sense.

I am going to have to make all of the different things I am doing

Explain WHY you are choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry
connect to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I am choosing to investigate this topic because I am a huge football fan and it is probably my biggest hobby.
I am thinking about doing a career in sports but not the athletic side of it. I figured if I liked this then it will
maybe change my course of what I want to do when I graduate.

4 ) Background: What background knowledge / connections / prior learning do you have that can help
you to be successful with your project?

I have been a sports fan my whole life and have always been interested in the management side of it. I
also know about everything there is to know about the NFL and how it works.

5) Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does
this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals? What are you hoping to gain from
completing this project (other than graduating or passing CLC 12)?
 I am hoping to see if I would like to go into a sports career. It is my biggest passion but there is not a lot
of jobs in sports so I want to see if I truly like it enough to take the leap to study sports.

I want to do slides in order of my Team. Starting with the beginning ( Jerseys stadium) to the end (Roster)
and then in between with the staff hirings and everything else.
