I. INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Alugbati is rich in Betalain pigments that has a high value of vitamins and soluble fiber.
Alugbati (Malabar Spinach ) fruit is rich in colored molecule that produce dyes in China. This plant is
commonly found in tropical countries in Asia.

Paint is com commonly used in replenishing , beautifying and enhancing objects around us. The
production researcher tests the quality of paint by comparing it to the paint at the market. Alugbati
( Malabar Spinach ) has a high quality of Anthocyanin ( CAN ‘s ) content that is highly recommend in
paint. It is also a good product for community and is feasible as a good source of income ( Sing &
Bharati, 2014) .

The researcher aims to produce a paint from Alugbati ( Malabar Spinach ) fruit extract .The
researcher thinks that Alugbati ( Malabar Spinach ) has a great potential of being an alternative acrylic
paint due to its advantages because it has a large amount and good quality of Anthocyanin ( CAN ‘)
contents.

B. RESEARCH PROBLEM

•Is Malabar Spinach fruit extract is effective to become an paint?

•Does Alugbati fruit extract has a significance study about its paint production?

•Does the color of Alugbati extract will become white due to the time period?

C. OBJECTIVES

1.To prove that Alugbati acrylic paint is more suitable than the paint that has toxic contents.

2. To compare the quality of Alugbati acrylic paint from the commercialized paint.

3.To prevent the negative effects of toxic paints to one’s life.

D. NULL HYPOTHESIS

HO:Alugbati does not have any strong pigments that can support it’s paint production.

HA: Alugbati has a strong and high quality of Anthocyanin ( CAN ‘s ) and Betalain pigments that is
highly recommended in paint production .

HO: Commercialized paint are more effective than organic paint.

HA: Alugbati is more effective because it has its own natural pigments.( Betalain and Anthocyanin
contents).

HO: The color of organic/Alugbati paint will not last long.

HA: It will last long because it has strong pigments that can support it.

II. SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY

This research study aims to help artist slain their problems about paints . Many eco
friendly paints are widely considered to provide superior results than chemical paints.

Despite this , eco-friendly paint has a numbers of benefits compare to the

traditional paints and it provide a safe alternative paint not only for the sake of our planet but also for
you’re health too.

III. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will help every artist to slain their problems about the quality of their
paints. This study will be useful to every artist or every individual that are using coloring materials
like paint or acrylic paints. While this product can last up to 2-3 years . Using this product , it will
enhance the vibrant color , hue , aestheticness and the quality of a piece of art.
