1. Do you use public transport? Why?
- As a university student, using public transport for daily commutes is considered as a part of my life.
The mobility and convenience would be the biggest advantages of this type of transportation. Take
Grabbike, for instance. What we need to do is to book a driver through the app, which takes around
1-2 minutes to find one, and its price is so reasonable.

2. Which type of public transport do you prefer? Why?

- I’m not a fan of buses or cars in general, because of carsickness. That’s why I would be more
comfortable/ comfy to use motorbikes than any other type of public transport. In fact, Saigon is such a
bustling city, so motorbikes would be the most ideal choice when it comes to the traffic congestion,
especially peak/ rush hour.

3. Do you think it is necessary to encourage people in using public transport?

- Generally speaking, public transport is the advancement of a modern society towards the benefits of
environmental and financial aspects. In fact, the price itself is certainly not a big deal because it is
incredibly reasonable, so for those who are worried about transportation expenses, this would be
the top priority. Obviously, the more people use public transport, the less traffic congestion would be.
1. Do people in your country usually use public transportation?
- I would say that Vietnamese people are a big fan of using public transport which is prioritized as the
daily commutes, especially young generation. In the metropolitan areas like HCMC or Hanoi, people
have a tendency to use public transport very often because it’s super affordable. For example, it is
priced around 30.000 VND in the first 8 kilometers, as far as I can remember.

2. Have the types of transport people use changed much over the last few decades?
- That was a massive change towards the usage of typical transport in recent decades. Back in 1990s,
people would be considered as the elite if they owned a scooter, or a bicycle even, in their house.
However, everything has been changing for 20 years when people are getting richer year after year,
having personal cars wouldn’t be a surprising story in 2021.

3. What kinds of improvement have there been in transport in our country in recent
years?
- It’s super difficult to point out the significant upgrades in terms of Vietnam transportation, but I would
say that public transport has been positively changed over the last few years. Take buses, for
instance. The majority of old-fashioned facets has been replaced by its modern versions, which
contains free-wifi,

1. Do you often give gift to people?
- I believe that giving gift to others is an interesting part of Vietnamese culture, and I am not an exception.
In the special occasions, let say birthday party, I would like to buy jewelleries or watches for whom I close
to. Although it might not exorbitant that much, it simply shows the thankfulness from the bottom of my
heart.

2. Do you like giving or receiving gifts?

- My answer would be “both”. First of all, it’s obviously clear that everyone loves receiving gifts, I mean,
who doesn’t?, and I do, too. Having said that, I’m also into giving gifts for others, notably my relatives and
friends. In other words, I suppose it’s a good way to show my respect or gratitude in general towards
giving gifts.

3. What kind of gifts do you prefer?

- As a millennial, I would like to receive any kind of technological gadgets or hi-tech devices in general. For
instance, it will be desperately amazing if someone gives me the Apple Watch series 6 or Iphone 12
promax. However, I believe that its meaning is somewhat more important, rather than how much it is
actually priced.
1. What is the best present or gift you have ever received?
- As far as I can remember, The Apple Watch series 1 would be the most unforgettable gift that I have
received from my parents since I was little. Although it was not too pricey, the gift was absolutely
priceless for me due to my 8th birthday’s ceremony.

2. Do you give expensive gift?

- To be honest, high-end gifts are not my cup of tea because I truly believe that what comes from our
heart is considered as the most crucial factor. In other words, instead of giving luxurious stuff as gifts, I
would like to buy things such as handmade products, books, or paintings even.

3. When did you last receive a gift?

- Let me see, hmm, well, if I’m mistaken, it was literally the Iphone 7 that I received from my Math
teacher when I passed the university entrance exam 4 years ago, with flying colours. At that time, the
Iphone 7 was considered as the latest version of Apple in which it contained tons of modern functions
such as water-resistant, twin-lens camera.

4. What kind of gift is popular in your country?

- In my country, we traditionally give others fruit baskets as a type of gift when we go to other houses on
a certain occasion such as meeting, dining, etc. The reason is that this type of gift can bring good
health. In fact, Vietnamese people have been doing this for a long time, so, it’s the signature of our
culture.
1. What do you gift others as a gift?
- It actually depends on my relationship with that person. For instance, if they are my mom or dad, the
present must be meaningful and valuable, such as a watch or perfume. However, for friends and
relatives, normally, fruits or some small gifts like keychains or wallets, are absolutely reasonable.

2. Why do people like giving gifts?

- I suppose that the reason why people love giving gifts is to show our gratitude/ appreciation towards
our beloved ones. Thanks for that, we can create a stronger bond between us and those who receive
it. Therefore, they might be willing to give us a hand (if possible) in case we need help in the future.

3. Do you ever take a gift when you visit someone in their home?
- In my experience, I received a gift from my friend. It was a Christmas party at my friend's house.
There, we organized an activity called present exchange that I received a notebook from a random
person in the party. And it was absolutely the great moment that I can tell you.
