DIFFICULTIES WHILE ON THE PATH OF SOLVING EXISTING PROBLEMS
OF HYDROGEN FUEL VEHICLE:

• Sources also suggest that modifications to the engine's air-fuel


ratio, ignition timing, emissions control systems, electronic control
systems and possibly other design elements, might be required in
order to obtain any significant results. Due to the inherent
complexity of these subsystems, a necessity of modern engine
design and emissions standards, such claims made by proponents
of hydrogen fuel enhancement are difficult to substantiate and
always disputed.
• Hydrogen fuel enhancement from electrolysis has been promoted
for use with gasoline-powered and diesel trucks, although
electrolysis-based designs have repeatedly failed efficiency tests
and contradict widely accepted laws of thermodynamics (i.e.,
conservation of energy)
• Cost to produce the hydrogen is likely to be higher because
production volumes are less.

SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS WITH HYDROGEN VEHICLE:

The efficiency of hydrogen driven vehicle reduces at three stages:


• The generation of hydrogen itself uses a lot of energy. In 2005,
BMW has tested the use of liquid hydrogen in its product. So, yes
there is a scope of use of liquid hydrogen directly. No need to
produce hydrogen through conventional methods.
• The loss during hydrogen transportation can be reduced if the
distance between motor and source where hydrogen produced is
reduce, i.e., reducing the length of transportation pipe by
redesigning the vehicle so that the source and motor can both be
placed in rear or the front part of the vehicle.
• Energy also gets dissipated while fuel cell conversion process. Using
a catalyst may reduce the energy loss at this stage.

THEM THE FUTUTRE CAR

• It supports green technology concept


• Electric vehicle when fully charged – range is almost 200 km
and Hydrogen Fuel vehicle when fully charged – range is
almost 500 km
• Time for being fully charged by electric vehicle is few hours
(even Tesla take an hour approx.) and for refilling the
hydrogen fuel, it is just a task of 10 minutes.
• Using electric batteries in more heavy transportations like
airbus is impossible while using liquid hydrogen is more
efficient.
• If use of electric vehicle continue, in future earth will be
dumped with batteries and again the same statement – “how
we should get rid of them” will be everywhere.
