AKITA ng mga kongresistang tumulak sa Spratly Islands para sa isang peace mission noong Miyerkules ang dalawang banyagang barkong nagsasagawa ng quarrying at winawasak ang mga coral reef na tinuturing na bahagi ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas.
Isang araw makaraan ang biyahe, nanawagan si Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone kahapon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na magsampa ng pormal na protesta kapag nabatid na ang pinanggalingan ng mga lantsa, na binabantayan ng walong bangka. Hinala ng mga naninirahan sa Pag-Asa Island, ang pinakamalaki sa Kalayaan island chain na inaangkin ng Pilipinas, mga barko ito ng Tsina o Vietnam. Naiulat ang quarrying sa may 5 kilometro silangan ng Pag-Asa, isang barangay sa ilalim ng bayan ng Kalayaan, Palawan. Because God listens to every beat of our heart and HE, alone, knows whats truly best for us.
