This document is a student's reflection on the benefits of technology in the classroom. The student took a course on technology for teaching and learning, and read a module focusing on the necessity and benefits of technology in education. The student believes technology creates more opportunities for teaching languages and exposes students to resources that reinforce instruction. For visual learners, projection screens connected to computers allow students to see notes rather than just listen. Educational technology also supports both teaching and learning through digital tools, increases student involvement, and expands course offerings. While some argue technology "spoils" students, it is an important part of today's society and equips students with skills for the future when introduced in schools.

“MY REFLECTION ABOUT THE BENEFITS FROM USING
TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM”
This course EED TTL 313: Technology for Teaching and
Learning in the Elementary Grade is taking up a modular approach of learning. We had our first meeting last Thursday, and we are able to talk about introducing ourselves to class. Now, we are having our first module entitled Technology in teaching and learning. Upon reading up the module, I was able to grasp learnings about the importance of technology in teaching. ‘’Technology makes life easier.’’
This module, Technology in teaching and learning solely
focuses on necessity and benefits of the technology in teaching and learning. In my opinion, the effective application of technology in education has changed the way of learning and expanded the range of educational purposes. The use of technology creates more opportunities when teaching a language. It creates new possibilities of exposure to the target language and enriches the methodology with new resources that reinforce the instruction both inside and outside the classroom. Technology that is made use of in the classroom is very beneficial in helping the students understand and absorb what they are being taught. For instance, since most of the students today are born in the 21st century in which it is the era of technology, students who are visual learners, projection screens connected to computers could be put in classrooms to let the students see their notes as opposed to simply sitting down and listening to the instructor teach. Our educational system here in the Philippines and especially in the amidst of the pandemic has benefited from recent developments in educational technology. Both teaching and learning are supported by new educational technology, through digital learning tools. Additionally to increasing student involvement and passion for studying, it has expanded course offerings.
The diverse tools such as; videoconferencing, digital television,
electronic whiteboards, and gaming. Increasingly ICTs not only include small, portable devices such as tablets, MP3 players, gaming devices, and Smart- and cell phones and internet. These tools are a product of the advancement of technology. Teachers observed how learning was amplified by computer literacy. The modern learner can now answer to questions or commands from the computer, just like how they would when reading. The student can create messages using computer language or a program, just like writing.
Overall, some people’s opinion about technology is that
technology "spoils" youngsters. For instance, individuals can choose to purchase a calculator rather than sitting down and learning how to count. Technology continues to be a crucial part of the society we live in today, despite the fact that some people are making these arguments. Introducing it into our schools and classrooms, technology will ensure that the students are equipped with much better tools and knowledge to make their transition from school to the work place a very easy one. We need to face the truth, technology is the ‘in thing’ in the world today and it has become necessary in each and every aspect of our lives and education has without doubt not been left behind. It is very useful in providing more knowledge to our students
