Answer the following question briefly.

1) How important is history to mankind?


When you come across a tree, you may find yourself wondering when it was first planted in that location or how
long it has been there. And you will wonder to yourself, "Who put that tree there?" The occurrences that transpired in the
past are relevant to the here and now. Regarding the fact that it produced fruit and let us to breathe oxygen so that we
might survive. The earliest root of the present may be found in the past.

There's a lot more to history than just a chronological record of different countries or civilizations. It is also the
story that we have. It is full with tales of individuals standing up for what they believe in, making sacrifices for the ones
they love, or working hard to make their dreams come true. When we have an appreciation for history, we recognize the
worth of the efforts and suffering of those who came before us. In addition to this, history is essential since it provides us
with a wide range of valuable lessons that may be used to our development as a mankind.

2) Differentiate primary sources from secondary?


The document or record that contains the first-hand information or the original data is thought to be the primary
source. These are works that were produced by a person who either personally experienced the event in question or was
physically there at the time the event took place. Primary sources of knowledge include things like interviews with
renowned individuals OR diaries written by notable people

Primary sources of knowledge include scientific papers authored by researchers that include original research,
manuscripts written by writers or newspaper clippings. The evidence provided by primary sources is often first-hand
accounts of events that occurred in the past. And any source of information that describes, summarizes, analyzes, or is
derived from a main source of information is referred to as a “Secondary source” of information.

Additionally, secondary sources will often provide criticism or assistance in the process of understanding an event that
was recounted by a main source of information. The main examples of secondary sources of information are text books,
films that are based on historical events, written material about important individuals and or events from the past.

3) Why is it more credible and reliable to use the primary sources?


Historical trends may be difficult to understand from current events alone, but primary sources provide researchers
and historians with documentation of such patterns. Students may benefit from the significant distinction offered by
primary sources in order to better understand the impact of past events on the present.

Teachers may utilize primary materials to help students better understand the world around them and to stimulate critical
thinking about notable events in history and the present. The use of primary sources in the classroom may help bring
concepts to life, allowing students to get a more nuanced knowledge of the material and perhaps unearth previously
unknown angles. Additionally, students might get a fresh perspective on the ideas, words, and deeds of the past by reading
original sources.

These resources help students get a deeper understanding of the past and make connections to contemporary
issues and events. Academics and students must utilize materials like primary sources to better comprehend current
events and think critically when assessing information, especially in light of expanding socioeconomic and cultural divides
and rising tensions in many areas of the globe. There has never been a time when it was more crucial to share these
priceless resources with children.

1) According to alvarez’s memoirs, what was the purpose of Aguinaldo’s second visit to the Supremo?
Alvarez's memoirs state that Aguinaldo asked him to accompany him to another meeting with Supremo Bonifacio
so that they might gather further knowledge on the revolutionary group known as the "Katipunan." The event took place
on Monday, April 6, 1896, in the city of Manila in the Philippines.

2) How did Supremo treat Aguinaldo on the latter’s visit?


Bonifacio, the Supremo, treats Aguinaldo as if he were the most important person in the room or as if he were a
brother. Something is not quite right with the way that he perceives and looks at Aguinaldo. And when Alvarez said, he
quickly asked Dr. Pio Valenzuela and Jose Dizon to go to the house of Ramon Padilla, who was disrespectfully spoke to
Aguinaldo at the port.

3) What is significance of this narrative account?


A bitter tension, strong undercurrents of supremacism and belief, and a violent dominance are all aspects that
now emerge so clearly in Alvarez's account, but Filipino and American historians have recreated the Philippine Revolution
to suit the political needs of succeeding generations. They have done this by ignoring aspects that now emerge so clearly
in Alvarez's account. Postwar historians of the Philippines often removed these events' Western-style heroes and heroic
qualities, with the goal of providing their new country with Western-style heroes and heroics.

Alvarez restores these aspects to us without lowering the esteem with which the revolution is held or diminishing
its majesty. It was "in the spirit of noble truth" that he wrote about the accomplishments as well as the failures, courage
as well as violence; this provided the fresh raw material for reconstructing this portion of the Filipino history.

This book gives an account of the successes as well as failures, bravery as well as brutality of the war, providing
raw material for recreating this aspect of Filipino history. Without diminishing the dignity or glory of the Revolution, the
book gives an account of both the successes and failures of the Revolutionary War. Both the Tagalog and English versions
of the text are included in this book.
