Dear Hiring Manager,

As a dedicated individual in the nursing field, having just earned a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing, I am thrilled to be applying for the role of a registered nurse in the emergency
department at this hospital. I believe my skills of being a highly driven and motivated
individual along with having excellent communication skills, working well under pressure,
and my attention to detail fulfill the needs of this position. These skills, as well as my
educational background and my reliance on self-motivation, would enable me to be a valuable
leader and asset within your emergency department. My passion for this field, combined with my
respect for your hospital, make me eager to get on board.

From August to October of 2022, I performed my preceptorship at Abrazo West, a level one
trauma hospital, where I completed my 144 clinical practicum rotation hours in the emergency
department. In this role, I exercised prioritization and critical thinking as I worked with
individuals of all ages as they entered the emergency department. As I fulfilled these duties, I
gained greater experience in my psychomotor skills and established patient priorities
independently with limited supervision to provide efficient care and management.

Additionally, during the 2021-2022 academic school year, I completed many clinical hours in a
variety of hospital care settings including critical care, pediatrics, obstetrics, medical surgical,
psychiatry, developmental disabilities, and long-term care. Throughout each clinical rotation, I
contributed leadership, communication, and consistent problem-solving skills at prioritizing
and managing patients with proficiency.

I believe my leadership, determination, and the attention to detail I use in clinical settings would
allow me to become a cohesive part of the workplace in the hospital emergency department.
