TASK 1

Instruction: Answer the following questions below.

1. What is Rizal Law?

 The Rizal Law , also known as RA 1425, is about implementing rules to educate people about the Life,
Works, and Writings of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, especially his novels Noli Me Tangere and El
Filibusterismo. This is to give the students and the future generations an ample background and for them
to understand about how Jose Rizal hands over his life for our country.

2. What are the main goals and purpose of RA 1425?

 The main goals of this act are to enrich the minds of the students about the history of the Philippines
specifically talking about our national hero and for the people not to take advantage of the novels of
Rizal. In addition, it also aims to study and spread the ideals, teaching and exemplary life of Rizal
especially to the Youth of the Land, to organize chapters in any community anywhere in the world and
to undertake such programs of activities which will promote individual commitment to the idealism of
Rizal and encourage personal involvement in the contemporary problems of the nation, and to train and
develop the Filipino Youth in character building, citizenship training, democratic leadership and
enlightened nationalism and dedicated service to country and people. The law aims to put Rizal closer to
our hearts, strengthening not only the Rizal course but the subject of Philippine history is important. It
seeks to accomplish its purpose to rededicate the lives of youth to the ideals of freedom and
nationalism, for which our heroes lived and died, and to pay tribute to our national hero for devoting his
life and works in shaping the Filipino character.

3. Is the Rizal Law still relevant today? If so, explain its relevance to your life as a student and citizen of
this country. If not, explain why you believe it no longer serves a relevant purpose.
 Yes, It is still relevant to study Rizal and what he did to this country. Despite Catholicism still
influencing the country, Rizal's bios and works were still studied. The law is not just for learning. It
seeks to bring back what once was the mightiest trait that the Filipinos had. It gives the Filipinos the
drive to do something for themselves and be proud of it. That we have the capabilities to actually change
the world. We’re not indolent. In reading the works of Dr. Jose Rizal, like To The Filipino youth, we
will know that Filipino’s are also intelligent. That our country has a lot to offer to the world. For me, and
all Filipinos honored him and also a number of nations, honored Jose Rizal and they made a memorial
statue in his honor. He brings honor to our nation. As a youth, you must do the same. You must bring
honor to your self and your family by finishing well your studies and doing good in your career and do
good to others.
