Expectations of the Course Portfolio
Every team has to submit a Portfolio. A portfolio is a file that sums up the student’s learning experi- ence over the course study period and assists the student’s effort for continuous improvement. To meet expectations, the file must include but not limited to the following: 1. Cover Page: this is the first or top page in the file, i.e. it is first page seen when the portfolio is opened up, and must display the: • University name and Faculty name (preferably with logos) • Course name, course code, year and term • Team number, names of all team members, their PIN numbers and e-mails • Instructor’s name 2. Table of Contents: this comes after the cover page and must display all the sections included in the file, i.e., shows all the divider titles. 3. Introduction: this is one page or more in which the team introduce to the portfolio specifically and to GE 213 generally. 4. Tabbed section dividers with section titles on them for all the sections mentioned below a) Team norms: this includes the team norms approved by the team members. b) Assessment section: this must include this sheet, the Portfolio Assessment Checklist, and Work Team Peer-to-Peer Assessment sheet. c) Team Comments on the Studied Material in the Course Textbook : this addresses the learning outcomes from each studied chapter in text book as seen by the team member. Moreover, all drafts or extra required assignments are kept in this section. d) Team Opinion on the Course : this includes a List of the course +’s, List of the course Δ’s. e) Team assignments: these are placed after appropriately labeled partitions. Assignments must be placed in the order they had been worked out during the term; i.e. latest assignment comes on the top of earlier ones. f) Individual assignments: these are also placed after appropriately labeled partitions. And must also be placed in the order they had been worked out during the term. g) Course Project: this is also placed after appropriately labeled partitions. And must include all crude materials and final report of the course project. h) Team Meeting Minutes: these must be true minutes of the meetings held during the course, starting with the first introductory meeting. i) Documents and Surveys: Sign-off sheets, documentations and surveys are maintained in this section. j) Conclusions: this addresses the final conclusion of each team member regarding the course GE 213. 5. CD or DVD: this must include the oral presentation given in the Course Celebration Day besides the whole material included in the course portfolio.
