August 2022
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer vacation! Your completed schedule for 2022-2023 will be available on the parent
portal tomorrow morning.
During the week preceding the opening of school, program corrections will be accommodated for the following reasons
only:
a. Incomplete program - missing a course required for graduation.
b. Course error - given a course that was not requested.
c. Instructional level changes.
d. Student is requesting a lunch period.
e. Elective change (limited availability)
Students interested in making any other schedule change may make an appointment to see their counselor after September
13, 2022. As a reminder, there will be no schedule changes made during the first six-day cycle of the school year.
Students who need to meet with their counselor for any of the above reasons only, can request a virtual meeting with their
counselor during one of the following time blocks:
To schedule an appointment, students must use one of the links below to schedule time with their counselor (note:
counselor names can be found on your child’s schedule).
AP Classes
If your child is enrolled in one or more AP classes, please be aware of the following:
• An exam will be ordered for each AP class that your child is enrolled in. This order must be placed by November
1. The cost of each exam is $97 ($145 for Capstone exams: Seminar and Research). Payment deadline
information, along with current College Board costs will be sent in October. If an exam is ordered after the
November 1 deadline, a $40 fee will be charged. The same fee, $40, will be charged for any exam that is cancelled
or not taken by the student. These fees and processes are determined by the College Board.
• If your family has been approved for Free or Reduced Lunch, these fees will be discounted. Additional information
will be shared in a future mailing.
• Students enrolled in one or more AP classes must have a College Board account. If your child does not have one
set up, they should create one at collegeboard.org. If your child already has an account, make sure they know
their username and password. During the first two weeks of school, teachers will provide information about
enrolling in their class online through College Board.
Program Changes
Please see the attached chart outlining the deadlines for program changes.
I encourage you to review this information to make informed yet timely decisions that are in your child’s best interest. If
you have any questions, please contact your child’s Guidance Counselor.
Sincerely,
Laurie B. Lynn
