I. Executive Summary

Buchirific is a buchi food stall that will provide you with a nutritious

Filipino dessert without losing its delectable taste and enticing

appearance. Buchirific's main goal is to provide new product dishes to

our valued customers that will provide them with healthy food that both

adults and children will enjoy. Buchirific will introduce variety of new

flavor combinations that they haven’t seen yet with the other snacks.

Furthermore, the business will be located at Crossing, Calamba City,

Laguna and will operate during Monday to Sunday. Due to the rising

number of competitors and for the purpose of sustaining and improving

the business operations, the proponents came up with various marketing

strategies, possible adjustments, and resolutions in order to promote the

product that they offer such as the use of technological advancements

for advertising the business and persuasive and interesting promotional

activities. With regards to the product that they will offer, Buchirific will

ensure the customers’ satisfaction by providing them a whole new taste

and a more terrific version of the classic buchi that we know.

II. Business/Company Overview

Company Background

The idea of starting up this buchi business came from the

proponents’ passion for rising trends and a desire to start their own

venture. The proponents agreed on the Buchi business as an excellent

way to showcase this delicious Pinoy snack. As we all know, food is

something that a man can’t deprive himself. Furthermore, Filipinos are

known for being foodies, with snacking being one of their favorite past

times. As a result, the proponents made the decision to build Buchirific,

a buchi food stall. The proponents' goal in starting this business is to make

an impression to the people that this popular Pinoy dessert can also

afford to keep up with current food trends. In addition to this matter,

Buchirific will give this all-time favorite delicacy a nutritious twist by

offering a range of flavors such as apple-pumpkin, coconut-pumpkin,

chocolate-pumpkin, cheesy pumpkin, and mashed banana. Customers

will be surely wowed by the Buchirific's distinct and unique taste, which

will undoubtedly surpass their expectations.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

➢ Sweet delicacies never go out of trend as Filipinos are

naturally fond of desserts.

➢ The unique flavor combinations and nutritious fillings of

buchi are only offered in Buchirific.

➢ Buchirific has a large target market.

➢ The buchi that Buchirific offers is available for a reasonable

price that everyone can afford.

Weaknesses

➢ They do not have other products to offer aside from buchi

with variety of flavors.

➢ Buchirific does not have a brand image/recognition yet

since it is only a start-up business.

collaborating with schools when there is an event.

III. Product/Service

Nature of the Product

The Traditional Chinese pastry called jian dui which is considered

as a palace during the Tang dynasty is called buchi in the Philippines.

They're made with glutinous rice flour filled with common sweet fillings

such sweetened mung bean, creamy lotus, red bean paste, or

shredded coconut. Buchi are normally fried until golden and coated in

sesame seeds. Despite the fact that it is a traditional Chinese delicacy,

its Filipino version has become extremely popular and well-liked by the

Filipinos. Buchi makes a satisfying dessert or a short sweet snack thanks

to their crispy shell, chewy texture, and creamy filling.

Up until today, sweet delicacies like buchi are still well-enjoyed by

the Filipinos. Buchi is continuously evolving as new food trends are

changing as well. For this reason, the proponents came up with the idea

of giving buchi a new twist that everyone will surely love. In order to level

up the ordinary buchi that we all know, Buchirific will add extraordinary

flavor combinations which consist nutritious ingredients such as fruits and

vegetables that will provide a new taste of a healthy Filipino delicacy.

Product Design

Buchirific will put a healthy twist to the common buchi that

we know. By providing unique flavor combinations and nutritious fillings,

customers will surely enjoy its new taste and increased nutritious value.

The flavors of buchi that they offer includes Chocolate Pumpkin Buchi,

Coconut Pumpkin Buchi, and Cheesy Pumpkin Buchi. Each buchi is

made out of glutinous rice flour mixed with sweet potatoes, sugar, water,

and then coated with sesame seeds afterwards. Each ball of buchi is

filled with nutritious and leveled up flavors that all ages will surely love.

Furthermore, every buchi is deep fried in order to enjoy its crispy and

chewy texture. The buchi is served with a presentable packaging to give

it a delightful appearance and to make it appealing to the eyes of the

customers.

1. Put 2 cups of glutinous rice into mixing bowl.

2. Pour 1 cup of water and put 1/2 cup of white sugar and mix it as well.

You may need to adjust the water to get the right consistency.

4. Mash the 2 boiled medium size sweet potatoes and put it into the

glutinuous rice and mix it until it forms into a dough. Set aside.

5. As for the filling, in a mixing bowl, mix the mashed pumpkin together

with the desired flavor (chocolate/cheese/coconut), 1 cup sugar, and

1 cup condensed milk. You may add more sugar depending on your

taste.

6. From the dough, form small balls and press each ball flat. Scoop a

teaspoon of the kalabasa filling and then gather the edges to enclose

the filling inside.

7. Roll again until it forms a ball again.

8. Roll each buchi ball in a plate of sesame seeds.

9. In a deep pan or a pot, heat oil over medium heat. Deep fry the buchi

until golden brown and drain in a wire rack.

10. Serve it warm and enjoy!

Psychological pricing will be utilized as a pricing strategy. The

product’s price will be set at 10 pesos per piece of buchi. As for the

Combo sets, it costs 50 pesos for Combo A, 85 pesos for Combo B, and

190 pesos for Combo C. These would be implemented as it will gain the

customer’s attention on the product that is being offered.

IV. Marketing

Marketing Segmentation

Buchirific’s target market will focus on the residents of

Calamba City aging from 10 – 80 years old, both male men and women,

either single or married, and has ranging P1,000 and above income per

month. The market was divided into (4) segments which are people who

are interested in sweet delicacies, the ones who are interested with

healthy snacks, those who wants to keep themselves healthy despite

wanting to eat desserts, and those who are looking for affordable

meryenda or snacks. Buchirific’s target market has a total of 100% which

consists 42% of Adult, 33% of Teens, 15% of Elderly, and 10% of Kids.

The business will promote the product using low-cost

approaches that can reach and attract a large number of potential

customers. Various strategies could be implemented to promote the

business:

➢ Using social media ads prmote the Buchirific would be extremely

beneficial. Technology has had a major impact on the way

businesses are conducted today’s world. As a result, having an

official website and a Facebook page would make it easier to

communicate and reach potential customers.

➢ Bulk orders and resellers can receive discounts from Buchirific. A

customer would be given a 10% discount for every 100 pieces of

buchi that they purchase.

➢ Word-of-mouth marketing would be a very cost-effective way to

gain people's trust and pique the interest of local consumers.

Employees will spread the word about the Buchirific to their peers,

which may also lead their peers to promote it to their other

➢ Traditional approaches such as distributing flyers, banners, and

signage around the area will also be used.

Buchirific is a buchi stall that is located in Crossing, Calamba City,

Laguna which can be easily seen by a lot of people. As a result, it may

lead to higher sales since it is more visible for the customers. It is located

at the side of the road so those who are walking and passing by can see

it. Additionally, for those who are in vehicles, they can stop over and

park their vehicle at the side of the road and purchase from the stall.

The goal of the business is to introduce their product to the community

in order to promote this sweet Filipino delicacy, to innovate the common

buchi that we all know, and to satisfy the sweet cravings of both the kids

and adults with a healthier twist of buchi.

The sales forecast in five (5) years is 1,225,120.

Source of Funds

The total capitalization is 216,064. To be able to supply the

required capital to start the business, the proponents are planning to

give their shares from their own personal funds. It will consist fifty percent

(50%) of the capital to be used. The amount of money to be contributed

by each proponent is P15,433. Furthermore, the remaining fifty percent

(50%) of the capital to be used will come from a term loan. The amount

of money to be loaned is P108,032 with an interest rate of 5% per year

and to be paid within 2 years.
