For accessing your Course Resources in Moodle Learning Management System
Moodle 2.x
Cengage Learning provides Course Packages that are designed to seamlessly integrate with your institution’s Moodle
Learning Management System. Integrating your Course Package into your existing Moodle course is a simple
process that you should be able to complete using the steps outlined in this document.

GETTING STARTED
Step 1: Access Moodle
Log into your institution’s Moodle Learning Management System and access your course.
Step 2: Launch the Player
Click the Content Area where your instructor has posted your Cengage Course Resources and click your resource
link.
Step 3: Get Your Resources
The Content Player will launch in a new window and may include links to your course resources, Technical Support
and documentation.
The Content Player maintains the connection between Moodle and your Course Resources. As you launch various
links from the Content Player, leave the Content Player window open to avoid losing unsaved information.

LAUNCHING YOUR COURSE RESOURCES
1. From the Content Player, click a Course Resource link from the left menu to launch it.
2. When you launch a resource for the first time, a brief System Check utility will run. If your system is
incompatible, the System Check utility will provide you with the necessary information and resource links to
help you properly configure your system.
3. Following the System Check, you may be prompted to enter an Access Code to validate your course
resource. Your Access Code is a 14‐digit alpha‐numeric code that is printed on the card that came with your
textbook, was purchased electronically, or was provided by Cengage Learning (ex: PPJWJN2PP6SL5W).
4. When accessing a resource that requires enrollment, you may also be prompted to enter a Course Key to
register for the course resource. Your instructor is responsible for providing you with you a Course Key.
Course Keys may be 14‐digit alpha‐numeric codes that begin with “E” (ex: E‐3XQQQR8NBFR6H ) or 12‐digit
alpha‐numeric code (ex: U886‐EPEN‐8DJX)
>> Once you have entered your Access Code and Course Key (when applicable), you should have complete
access to your course resources.

Recommended Browsers and Operating Systems
To complete the integration, you will need to provide certain specifications to determine how Moodle will manage
the Course Package.
Internet Explorer 8.x for Windows XP, Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 7.x for Windows XP
Firefox 3.5.x for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Macintosh 10.5.x
Firefox 3.6.x for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Macintosh 10.5.x
>> These specifications are only applicable to accessing Cengage Learning Resources. They may differ from Moodle
and/or your institution’s system requirements.
About System Check
The System Check utility ensures that your system is optimally configured to access your course materials without
technical issues. The tool verifies your computer settings for Browser Versions, Cookies, Java, Popup Blockers, etc.
If your system is in‐compatible, the System Check utility will provide you with the following links to enable Popup
Blockers and Cookies:

About Access Codes
Access Code is a 14‐digit alpha‐numeric code that is printed on the card that came with your textbook, was
purchased electronically, or was provided by Cengage Learning (ex: PPJWJN2PP6SL5W).If your Course Package
requires an Access Code you should only have to enter it the first time you launch your course resources.
About Course Keys
When accessing a resource that requires enrollment, you may also be prompted to enter a Course Key to register for
the course resource. Your instructor is responsible for providing you with you a Course Key. Course Keys may be
