:
Youth of my Beloved Land by Jose P. Laurel
The beginning sentences of President Laurel's address galvanized the youth. He opens
his address by calling to the youth's participation and diversified morality in order to build
the best country for Filipinos. The organization of the speech is well-constructed. The
speech was presented in a simple yet prudent approach, with a consistent and unambiguous
purpose. He presented significant topics as an indication of how he wished to express what
he was attempting to convey. He depicted the incandescent attitude of Filipino youth as
exemplified by the characters created by Jose Rizal in his renowned work El Filibusteris-
mo , Ibarra and Isagani, who were staunch and outspoken in their love for their homeland.
Laurel's discourse was stable as he kept inside the boundaries of relevancy. The speech's
finale stayed beholden to the primary point: "the youth is the Philippines's hope".
The duty of Filipino youth in the country is to contribute to the nation's growth and
welfare. They, therefore, play a significant role in the preservation of culture and the
provision of excellent possibilities for succeeding generations. The speech was delivered in
relation to the situation of our nation, which is comparable to what is occurring now.
