POINT OF VIEW

POV is defined as a way or a method of how one see or

perceives the reality of a phenomenon. It is an attitude
of how one sees or thinks of something. (Quipper
School 2016)
PARTIAL POINT OF VIEW
focuses on specific aspects of a
situation. The partial point of view
is an important component of
analytical thinking, as an
individual focuses on certain areas
or aspects of a problem in order
to understand it.
Holistic Perspective
refers to a pers[ectove that
considers large-scale patterns in
systems. A holistic perspective
requires an individual to have an
open mindset and ability to get
the general sense or impression
regarding a situation.
French-Philosopher Rene Descartes traced the need to
philosophize to doubt. In life, we will be faced with
several ideas and arguments which present themselves
as “truths”. A critical and questioning perspective is
necessary to determine if indeed these ideas or views
are correct.
REFLECTIONS- requires a person to be willing
to examine one’s thoughts , feelings, and
actions and to learn more about one’s life and
experiences one can reflect on almost any
subject.
• DOING PHILOSOPHY ALSO MEANS STRIVING TO
HAVE A HOLISTIC AND NOT A PARTIAL
PERSPECTIVE.

• DOING PHILOSOPHY INVOLVES ASKING THE

RIGHT QUESTIONS CRITICALLY EXAMINING THE
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO COME UP WITH THE
RIGHT ANSWERS OR WITH A SOUND, LOGICAL
& VALID CONCLUSIONS.
