1. PURPOSE
To ensure that all relted safety procedures are carried out while driving company
vehicles.

5. INSTRUCTION
ALWAYS complete the daily vehicle checks before driving. Check for oil, tire
pressure, other engine fluids, clean windows, clean headlight and taillights etc.
ALWAYS ensure that your driving license, the vehicle’s technical passport and
the insurances certificate are in your vehicle.
ALWAYS fasten your seat belt. A seat belt can save your life and prevent serious
injuries. Ensure passengers wore the seatbelts before moving.
ALWAYS obey local speed limits on streets and highways. Never run through red
lights it is against traffic Regulations.
ALWAYS turn the headlights on for safety during night. Smoking, eating and
drinking are prohibited while driving.
ALWAYS follow the speed limit in Giffin premises.
Switch off the vehicle engine while inside the plant.
Drivers must wear safety shoes and helmet when in the plant and site.
Do not park the vehicles in the no parking area.
ALL drivers including forklift drivers must wear safety belt while driving.
Follow the directions and signboards while driving and do not block the road.
NEVER INITIATE OR ANSWER MOBILE CALLS WHILE DRIVING, UNLESS IT
IS HAND’S FREE, OTHERWISE PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, STOP TO
ANSWER OR PLACE A CALL.
In case of an accident, CONTACT YOUR SUPERVISOR and report all incidents,
collisions and vehicle faults promptly.
Wear your seatbelt properly.
Do not:put the lower belt across your stomach as it can lead to serious injuries.
Do not place the shoulder belt behind your back as you need both section of the
belt to prevent an injury. Without the shoulder belt, injuries to your head and
chest are likely.
Do not put the belt under your arm – buy doing so, the belt is placed across your
ribs. Your rib can get seriously injured in a collision.
Ensure that Fire Extinguisher availability with validation of the third-party
inspection in the vehicle.
