1. I think poem number two puts’ women in a disadvantage. It is because the lines made for
women shows how some women hold themselves back to protect the masculinity of some
men. For example, the first line of the poem which means that some women who is
capable are taking care and fight for themselves but purposely pretend to be weak so that
some men will be able to protect their “reputation” as “men” where men should be the
one protecting and taking care of women.

2. Poem number one puts men in a disadvantage. It is because, from what I understand
through this poem, the lines says some stereotypes about men such as according to the
poem men should be responsible to some areas such as earning money, being the one
who knows everything, being emotionally strong, and etc.

In Bonino et al poem the authors emphasize on the issues in stereotypes of gender roles in
the society where it means men should be doing the roles of men and women should just
be feminine. It is because if they did not stick to their roles as men and women, they will
be judged by the society. Also, I think the authors would like to relay to us that because
of these stereotypes, women limit their potential to be their true self.

4. – 5.
I think that poem number one is better at tackling gender roles. It is because this opens
new insights about men and the responsibilities of being men in the society. This poem
tackles issues with regard to men roles in the society where men are pressured to do stuffs
to prove their masculinity. Also, this poem addresses the contemporary issues with regard
to unequal treat of the society towards men and the injustices of the justice system
towards men where according to SAGE Journals: Your Gateway to World-Class
Research Journals (2019) that there is no law under which a man can lodge a complaint
against his wife or in-laws.
