1. Write a short story about your experience using simple present tense and present Progessive Tense
then give underline which one is simple present tense and present progessive tense! (35 point)
Answer :
I am Nadila born in Tuban and lived in Surabaya for about a year in 2004-2005. And in 2006 I moved again
to Tuban because there was an accident, namely an accident in Kediri where my father died. At that time I
was 22 months old. Until now, sometimes I still feel sad when I remember that incident, especially when I
want to sleep at night, and I was not sleeping all night long, but every morning I wake up and I have to look
cheerful as if nothing had happened in my life. Sometimes I think about ending my life but on the other
hand I realize that this is not permissible in my religion. I want to go to a psychiatrist because every night I
often cry and usually there's nothing I cry.

A letter from Saidah

Assalamu’alaikum Alia,

It was very interesting to read your letter about yourself

( pronoun as reflexive) and your hometown, I would really like to
be your (pronoun as possessive subject) pen friend.

I'm a sixteen-years-old school student from Johor Bahru in

Malaysia. Actually I attend an Islamic boarding school just outside
the city but my family (pronoun as possessive) live in Kuala
Lumpur. My eldest sister (pronoun as possessive) is a medical
doctor. My younger brother (pronoun as possessive) is an
elementary school student.

My (pronoun as possessive) favorite subjects are social sciences. I

(pronoun as personal) like history very
much; it helps me (pronoun as personal) know more how different
countries existed in the past. At school we are supposed to use
English at all times, so we (pronoun as personal) have become
quite fluent although sometimes we slip back into Malay, which is
our mother tongue.

As for hobbies, I’m really into songs and music. My (pronoun as

possessive) favorite boy band is One Direction. My (pronoun as
possessive) favorite Malay singer is, of course, Siti Nurhaliza. I
(pronoun as personal) also like watching movies, especially
comedies.
The actor (pronoun as personal) I like best is Tom Cruise.

I’m (pronoun as personal) really into books. I (pronoun as

personal) like reading novels and short stories. I (pronoun as
personal) like some writers in English, like JK Rowling, and
Indonesian writers too, like Andrea Hirata and Ahmad Fuadi. My
(pronoun as possessive) dream, when I'm older, is to be a writer
of science fiction books.

I'd really love to come to Indonesia some day, especially to the

magnificent Raja Ampat in Papua, What about you (pronoun as
personal), do you (pronoun as personal) want to visit my country?
