Engage
Introduction
Fig. 1. An example of an Infographic.
The attention span of learners, in today’s education setting is limited which makes it harder
to retain lessons and information. However, the use of visual aids make it possible for you
to easily understand and remember the lessons and be engaged at the same time. If you
are able to learn and keep information faster through the use of visual aids, you are part of
the majority called visual learners. This type of learners absorb and process information
easier through images, illustrations, maps, graphs, and animations. Are you a visual learner?
Do you prefer visuals rather than texts? Do you prefer watching animations or videos to
understand a particular concept?
1
Unit 9.4: Online Presentation Tool with Animation
In the previous lesson, you explored and utilized different online tools and platforms to
create an engaging and interactive presentation. Some of the features are not only limited
in creating presentations, but also have the ability of transforming your presentation into an
animation that will be tackled today in this lesson. You will also learn how to create
animated presentations using a specific software in the latter part of the lesson.
Have you ever created a presentation that is more dynamic and interactive? Have you tried
creating animated presentations? In what ways will you apply the skills you gained to your
chosen track at the end of this lesson?
Objectives
In this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
● Define animation.
● Name different animated presentation software.
● Familiarize the tools and interface of PowToon.
● Create an animated presentation using PowToon.
DepEd Competency
Apply web design principles and elements using online creation tools, platforms, and
applications to communicate a message for a specific purpose in specific professional
tracks. (CS_ICT11/12-ICTPT-Ig-h-10)

There are various online tools available that students can use to share their ideas creatively,
and in engaging ways when doing a class presentation. Aside from the commonly used
offline presentation tools, this kind of platform offers them to select other options or to
utilize useful features in creating a captivating or visually appealing presentation.
Using Youtube, search for presentation examples using the key words “powtoon examples.”
Watch one short example so that you can still have enough time to answer the questions
that follow. One example is given below.

Unit 9.4: Online Presentation Tool with Animation
Presentation software programs offer various tools suitable for those users who want to
transform a static presentation into an animated one. The tools allow users to deliver the
content in a way that is more dynamic and engaging to their audiences. It is not just a
presentation uploaded and viewed on a website. To give you an example, you can add an
animated character, voice over, background music, interactive text, and other multimedia
content.
Despite not having the prior knowledge of using a professional animation software, such as
Blender and Adobe After Effects, users can easily create animated presentations through its
user-friendly features. There are online tools available that share the same features that are
offered for free, but some of them are trial versions; the advanced features can only be
accessed when you pay for the license. Examples of animated presentation tools include:
Powtoon, A
nimoto, Genially, Prezi, Visme, a
nd Vyond.
