Sand trays
God told Abram that He would make him a great nation and that his descendants would be as numerous as the sand
on the seashore. Sand writing trays are such a fun way to get kids learning letters, shapes and numbers.

Materials needed:
A plastic tray and some play sand. (If you don’t have sand, salt, rice or similar will work just fine).
Preparation:
Sprinkle a small amount of sand into a plastic
tray.
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
There is no right or wrong way to get started with a
sand tray. Demonstrate by creating lines or shapes
with your finger and shaking the try to start over.
Allow your child to feel the sand and design their own
patterns.
Toddlers
There are numerous ways to make this activity more challenging.

Sand box treasure hunt
Fill a box with enough sand to hide some objects. Abram trusted God to enter the unknown and God blessed him.

Materials needed:
A plastic box, play sand or alternative. (A sand pit would also be ideal).
Preparation:
Find some objects which are safe to hide in the sand before you begin.
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
Tell your child that you have hidden some objects for
them to find.
Toddlers
Hide some plastic or wooden letters and numbers in
the sand.

Star printing
God also told Abram that his descendants would be as numerous as stars in the sky. This is a fun art activity your
children will love.

Materials needed:
Cardboard. Poster paint. Paper.
Preparation:
Cut different size stars from an old cardboard box to
create your own stamps.
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
Put some poster paint onto a washable plate.
Allow your child to stamp the cardboard star into the paint and
print it onto paper.

Star sensory bottle
The stars in the night sky are always such a magical sight. Bring the night sky into your room wit h this
sensory bottle that will keep younger toddlers engaged.

Materials needed:
• A clean and washed plastic bottle with all labels removed. Keep the
top.
• Baby Oil or water.
• Dark non water-based food colouring for baby oil, or water based for
water.
• Star Confetti.
• Glitter
Preparation:
Prepare beforehand for Babies. Older toddlers will be able to help prepare the bottle.
Steps:
Carefully 3/4 fill the bottle with baby oil or water.
Add non water-based food coloring for baby oil (or water based for water.)
Screw on the bottle top and shake until the oil is colored.
Fill any gap left in the bottle with more baby oil or water.
ADULT: For safety, hot glue the bottle top in place to stop the child from opening.
