Site Survey Considerations

1. Area of the protected rooms including void spaces like raised floorings and ceiling spaces.
2. Type and Locations of equipment inside the protected area.
3. Hazard classification of each protected rooms.
4. Distances of each rooms.
5. Locations or lay-out of existing fire suppression system.
6. Doors, window or opening locations.
7. Locations of the existing control panels.
8. Fabrication yard and laydown area locations.
9. HVAC installation lay-out

CAFSS considerations

1. Type of CAFSS application not defined in the TOR or it will be proposed in the design depending
on the output of the calculations and site condition?
a. Total Flooding System
- Entire area application
b. Local application system
- Addressed to a certain equipment or area protection
2. Door fan test / room integrity test not included in the TOR.
- door fan test assures the room can hold the clean agent for this required period of time
as required by NFPA 2001.
3. CAFSS control panel will be integrated into the existing (if there is) or another installation will be
made for the 12 rooms?
4. Fire safety clearances, permits and approvals to BFP, is it by the client/OE or by the contractor?
5. What type of temporary fire protection system is required during the construction?
“The Contractor shall provide temporary fire protection system during the construction period.
This shall be of sufficient capacity to put any fire that may break out due to construction
operations. This is in additional to temporary fire extinguisher required. – 4. Contractor’s
Responsibility”
- Does the provision for fire extinguishers sufficient to satisfy the requirement of the
TOR?
6. “b. The Clean Agent Fire Suppression System Contractor shall not proceed with the installation of
the work until he has received the Owner’s Engineer’s approval on his shop drawings.”
- Guidelines must be set for the procedure and timeline of approval. Any delays on the
review by the OE will have an impact on the schedule of the contractor.
7. Is the commission procedure part of the deliverables?
Required documents:

1. Plan and room lay-out


2. Existing fire protection, sprinklers, fdas layout
3. HVAC lay-out and AHU, vent lay-out
4. Control panel profile
