MICROSCOPY

MECHANICS:
• One (1) participant per group.
• Only 1st year or 2nd year student shall participate in the microscopy.
• There will be 3 stations for focusing the microscope (Scanner, LPO and HPO)
• There is an assign specimen for the participant to look and focus in the
microscope.
• The fastest person who will finished focusing all the station gets the highest point.
• Materials will be provided except Laboratory gown and gloves.

AMAZING RACE
Day 1 October 19, 2022
1:00 pm-onwards

1. TEAM COMPOSITION:
Two freshmen, two 2nd year, one 3rd year, and one 4th year. A total of 6 members per team. The
purpose of this team composition is to develop camaraderie and enhance team building
regardless of their year level.
2. IN-GAME MECHANICS
a. All teams will be given an envelope right after the morning opening program. This could
contain puzzles, riddles, or problem sets that will give glue to where is their first station.
b. After arriving at the team's first station, they will be given a task to finish. After finishing the
task, the officer-in-charge/facilitator will give them flaglets (that correspond to their team
colors). Members from different groups may STEAL flaglets of other teams.
c. Flaglets will serve as a clearance. Teams cannot proceed to the next stations without their
flaglets.
d. There are also clues inside the PLT building that might help solve puzzles on every station
(NOTE: Not all stations have puzzles to be solved).
e. STOLEN FLAGLETS can be used to advance to the next station by the team who obtained it.
Meanwhile, the team who lost their flaglets needed to do the task again from the previous station
to get a new flaglet.

3. LOCATION OF PER STATION


The announced Location per station last departmental meeting has been changed and changes
will not be announced. Teams will have to solve the puzzles for clues or work for it by
completing the current station first. Each station is a clue to where the next station is.

4. SEQUENCE
Envelope→1st station→2nd station→3rd station→4th station→5th station→Final station.
5. GROUND(S) FOR DISQUALIFICATION
a. Participants may steal flaglets but can be disqualified if extreme or excessive force was used.
So steal strategically!
b. The use of cellphones during the game is a ground for disqualification. This is to prevent
cheating or searching for puzzle solutions on the internet.
c. Vlogging team cannot help their teammates. Coaching is a ground for disqualification.

6. VLOGGING TEAM
All amazing race participating teams should be automatically accompanied by the team's official
vloggers for documentation
POSTER AND SLOGAN MECHANICS
Theme:

Venue: Library

Day 2 October 20, 2022

Call Time: 8:30 am

9:00-12:00

1.The contest is open to all PLT College, Inc. students who are currently enrolled this semester.

2.2 participant for slogan and 1 for poster per group.

3.The following materials will be used for the Poster and Slogan Making Contest:

a. The student may use their desired canvas (long bond paper, Oslo paper, vellum paper,
sketchbook paper, mixed media paper, water color paper, 1/8 illustration board).

b. Coloring materials: Oil pastel, Crayola, colored pencil, markers, ink and correction fluid
may be used. (Use of other materials not specified above is strictly prohibited)

4. The slogan will be written in English or Filipino and must be in consonance with the theme.

5. Afterwards you may take a photo of your finished product and passed it to the assigned
officer.

6. Violation to any of the above -mentioned rules, and inability to follow mechanics will lead to
the disqualifications of the contestant.

7. Submission should be only at that time and date of the event.

8. Participants for both poster and slogan has only 3 hours to finish their output.

9. Finish or not finished, outputs should be submitted after the allotted time.

SLOGAN:
Relevance to the theme 40%
Creativity and Presentation 20%
Originality 15%
Impact of Slogan Message 15%
Grammar and Construction 10%
Total 100%

NOTE: Decision of judges shall be final and non- appealable.


GUIDELINES FOR QUIZ BEE
Day 3 October 21, 2022
9:00 am - onwards
1. There shall be composed of four (4) students per team one (1) per year level.
2. The students may wear their designated shirt color.
3. All contestants must be in the designated area at exactly 9:00 am. Call time will be at
8:30 am.
4. Team/s who failed to come on time, will be disqualified.
5. Boards and markers will be provided.
6. The quiz bee will be composed of three (3) rounds: Round 1 (Easy), Round 2 (Average),
and Round 3 (Difficult).
7. There will be 20 questions for Easy Round, 15 for Average and 10 for Difficult. For a
total of 45 questions.
8. The coverage of the quiz bee includes all the topics about Medical Laboratory Science.
9. The Quiz Master will read the questions twice only, after which the contestants should
write the answer in the boards provided.
10. All questions are multiple choice.
11. Each team is given time 10 seconds to answer for the Easy Round, 20 seconds for the
Average, and 30 seconds for the Difficult Round.
12. All answers must be in a capital letter.
13. After the time-limit, the groups must stop writing and must raise their answer boards.
14. Late answers will not be accepted.
15. The Quizmaster shall read and verify the groups answer.
16. Each correct answer for the Easy round is equivalent to one (1) point, two (2) points for
the Average and three (5) points for the Difficult Round. For a total of 100 points.
17. The team who gets the highest number of points is automatically declared the champion
or the runner-up as the case may be.
18. In case of a tie, another question will be given.
19. For any clarifications, the contestants may consult the officers-in-charge while the contes
is ongoing. Corrections or clarifications after the contest will not be entertained.

DAY 3 – October 21, 2022

MECHANICS:

• 8 participants per group (4 members as the patients & 4 members to


perform the capillary puncture and venipuncture)
• Patients will be randomly assigned on the contest proper
• Each method will be simultaneously performed by each group
• Materials will be provided except Laboratory gown and gloves

Mr. and Ms. Runway Fashion Model 2022
Day 3 October 21, 2022

Guidelines:

 The group will choose 1 male and 1 female candidates from the designated group to
represent on the said activity.
 Candidates can be chosen from different year level within the group.
 The chosen candidates/models should only represent the group on the said event as to:
1. Give also a chance to the other CMLS students to participate on other
activities and to be given an additional academic point.
2. Hence, the candidate/s can only participate on the other events if the group
has “no other participants/and in need”.

WEAR OF THE MODELS:

THE CANDIDATE WILL BE COMPETING ON “4 DIFFERENT ATTIRE”

1. SCRUBSUIT & LABGOWN

 The group will provide the suit of their representative but if the candidate
has its own they can use it.

2. CLINICAL UNIFORM

 The group will provide the suit of their representative but if the candidate
has its own they can use it.

3. JEANS ATTIRE

 The models will use their group color for their T-shirt(male)/Crop
top(female) as their upper suit.
 Jeans wear can be tattered or plain (white, black or blue)
 They are free to wear any shoes that go well with their attire for footwear.

4. BARONG AND FILIPINIANA ATTIRE

 For this category they should use a Barong and Filipiniana whether it is
original or modernize type.
 For both Barong and Filipiniana it should not be a “Creative Barong and
Filipiniana”
 The group will provide the Barong and Filipiniana of their representative
but if the candidates/models has its own they can use it.
