Face to Face
with Strict Adherence to Health Protocol

1. The Department of Education Schools Division Office of Nueva Vizcaya


through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) announces the
conduct of the 2023 Division Schools Press Conference – Individual Writing
Contest to be hosted by the Nueva Vizcaya Campus Journalism Advocates
Association to be held on March 10-12, 2023 at Solano South Central School
and Solano High School.

2. The conduct of the 2023 Division Schools Press Conference is in accordance


with RA 7079 otherwise known as Campus Journalism Act of 199l and in
compliance with DepEd Order No. 47, s. 2010 entitled Guidelines on
Financial Subsidy for the Conduct of National Schools Press Conference
(NSPC), its Implementing Rules and Regulations specifically Rule IX of Section
1.

3. The press conference aims to:


a. build awareness of campus journalists, their rights and responsibilities
as young leaders in light of the pandemic ;
b. enrich students’ journalistic learning experiences by providing them venues
to hone their potential as young writers;
c. enhance journalistic competencies through healthy and friendly
competitions; and
d. award outstanding school paper adviser and campus journalists.

4. The opening program shall be aired livestream over Facebook “AHA Bestkaya”
at 3:00 PM on March 10, while the awarding ceremony shall be on March 12 at
3:00 PM.

The conference activities shall include the following:


a. News Writing
b. Sports Writing
c. Science and Technology Writing
d. Features Writing
e. Editorial Writing
f. Column Writing
g. Editorial Cartooning
h. Copyreading and Headline Writing
i. Photojournalism
5. The participants to this conference are the district’s three (3) identified campus
journalists in each of the individual categories (elementary and secondary) , in
English and Filipino medium and their coaches.
Other participants are the CID chief, District Coordinators in English and
Filipino, District Campus Journalism Coordinators, Officers of the
Association of Nueva Vizcaya Campus Journalism Advocates, and the
School Paper Advisers for the school year 2022-2023.

6. No registration fee shall be collected in this activity.

7. Expenses in the conduct of the conference such as stipend of judges and


speakers, meals and snacks of the TWG, certificates, contest materials,
transportation, and other incidental expenses relative to the conduct of the
Division Schools Press Conference shall be charged to Campus Journalism
fund of the Division subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.

8. All Schools, District Offices should strictly follow the safety protocols on face-
to face conference, coaching, and monitoring at all levels of activities in
adherence to the guidelines of IATF and the local government units. As such,
the DTWG, judges, and participants shall remain in their assigned venues
during the duration of the conference.

9. Service credit/Compensatory Time-Off shall be given to the DTWG, facilitators


and coaches who will render services during the DSPC.

10. All districts must submit their official entries to the 2023 Division Schools
Press Conference through the Nueva Vizcaya Campus Journalism Advocates’
email NVCJA22@gmail.com on or before March 1, 2023.

11. All necessary guidelines, protocols, entry forms and matrix of activities
needed in the conduct of the conference are attached in the enclosure.
